Xbox One S 4K issues Help!

    Hi Guys

    I have a Panasonic 4k 60HZ and its connected via an amplifier which has 4k output 2.2 HDMI. SKY Q runs perfectly fine but when I connect using the Xbox One S HDMI cable included I get the following issues;

    4K ticked

    50hz ticked

    24hz ticked

But when I click 4K details I get an error (red circle with cross through) Your Tv does not support 4k UHD (60hz) video output will not be upscaled to 4K.

I am only allowed to set the 4K ticked box once I take off auto TV detect and select HDMI 1080p setting....

Any help or options would be appreciated

    :)

Thanks for the info, as Internet Expert suggested, if your TV has a motion-smoothing feature, sometimes disabling this can help. Check and see if this is an option for you. If not, be sure to check and try this troubleshooting guide which can also help with

Hi Woza, What panasonic tv do you have? I had similar issues with my xbox one s and my panasonic 48ax630B.

The way I solved it was setting the HDMI (make sure it is in either HDMI 1 or 2 as these are normally the HDCP 2.2 ports on panasonic tv's) on the tv to 4k native, and forced HDMI 2.0 as well as HDCP 2.2 on the TV. (they are all in different setting menu's,
you ll have to play around a bit)

As soon as I did this the xbox recognised the 4k and the fact it is a 10 bit panel, and I could set all options.

    Hope it helps

I had similar issues with my setup. My sony tv requires me to switch the hdmi port to enhanced mode.

I ALSO had to change a "hidden" setting on my Yamaha reciever. What brand reciever are you using? Mode/brand.

In Panasonic tvs, go to settings, source/inputs and change the hdmi setting to Enhanced. Try plugging the x1 directly into your tv. If it switches to the green check box, go back through the reciever and check again. If it doesn't work, it's either a setting
in your reciever (my BRAND NEW yamaha still required me to change a hidden setting) or your 2nd hdmi cord isn't hdmi 2.0 which can cause a problem sometimes (not high enough bandwidth). Hopefully something in here helps.

It took me a good 2 hours getting my stuff working right.

HDR not activating for Panasonic TX-58DX802B in Xbox one S

    Hey there Sigalakos,

We'd recommend going through this guide for troubleshooting at 4K or HDR related issues you may be having with the TV.

Troubleshoot 4K and HDR on Xbox One S

It's very likely since the TV doesn't support 10 bit, that the TV will be able to take full advantage of the HDR capabilities of Xbox One S. That guide will be best to help you confirm this though.
