    can anyone help with this? I have a 4k monitor capable of 4k uhd 10 bit 60hz etc, all bar the hdr. I've only had it a few weeks and no issue when I played the original xbox one. so, now I have xbox s and set to 4k 10bit, intermittently I get a black screen,
    tried a new hdmi cable, tried setting xbox to 4k 8 bit and although it's flickered less, it still is. would you say it's more likely the monitor 4k display failing? the monitor is..this AOC U2879VF 28" FreeSync Monitor at Ebuyer

    if you have an xbox s running 4k 10 on a monitor of a similar size please share a link. thanks

    Xbox One S 4K output causing black flashing with Vizio PQ65-F1

    When I enable the 4K video output on Xbox One S it causes intermittent black screen flashing on my new Vizio PQ65-F1

    Set-up: Tivo Roamio>Xbox One S>Yamaha RX-A660BL>Vizio PQ65-F1 on HDMI 1 input on TV. All HDMI cables are high speed 18GBps.

    When I enable the 4K display video output setting on the Xbox One S the problem happens when watching TV or playing games.

    When I change it to 1080p the problem is resolved. Allow 4K setting is turned on and YCC 4:2:2: is turned off in advanced settings.

    Using a Roku through the receiver with 4K to the TV works fine no issues, the problem is only with Xbox One. on 4K video output.

    Is there any way I can play Xbox One S with 4K video output for TV watching and gaming on the Vizio PQ65-F1 without these HDMI handshaking issues?

    xbox one s 4k intermittent black screen

    I'm having the same issue. When the Xbox One S is set to 8 bit my Vizio M65-D0 will intermittently produce a "Snowy" screen and I have to change inputs in order to clear it. On the 10 bit and 12 bit settings it intermittently will produce a "Black" screen
    that clears itself in a few seconds. This has happened both when streaming content from Amazon and while playing games.

    I have this same thing with my Xbox One S and Vizio M55-D0. Did you ever find a resolution?

    ok after days of searching and spending 3 hours to Microsoft on the phone and replacing my LG 27UD68P monitor I was about to loose hope, then I saw this.

    I'm having same thing it can be fine for days then suddenly on off on off on off screen garbled glitches like a seizure then suddenly alls great.

    I have been thinking up to this point its the screen or a miss conception see what you think - maybe someone else can chime in

    1. 60hz is using PC tech on hdmi to reach the full rate - we work fine but now and then the data feeding over is too much

    2. to enable 60hz and get uhd I have to switch on HDMI UHD DEEP COLOUR MODE in this the xbox specs show that is HDR which it isn't on my screen. my very big theory is my xbox wants to use HDR ( even though its greyed out, it says I can use it) then causing
    it to do its bad thing

    these are ideas, did either get any luck?

    Xbox One S is not really a 4K console,

    4K Media Content - Yes

    You can play 4K Blu-ray DVD's or Streaming services like Netflix in 4K just fine if your paying the the 4K subscription options,

    4K Gaming Content - No

    As for games, it only plays games at 1080p but it is upscaled to 4K, other wise a 1080p image without upscaling to 4K, will look much worst on a 4K screen than what it would do, if it was only displayed on a 1080p screen,

    A 1080p image upscaled on a 4K screen does look a little better than a 1080p image on a 1080p screen, but it still a 1080p image made to fit a 4K resolution screen, which is what the Xbox One S does

    Xbox One X is a 4K console,

    4K Media - Yes

    4K Gaming - Yes

    The issues is not the TV, it's the Xbox One S not being an Xbox One X.
