    Xbox One S 4k compatibility clarification


    I purchased the One S for the larger storage and to have a 4 k player. I own a Vizio M65 (2015) that does not support HDR, but does support HDMI 2.0 @ 60hz and HDCP 2.2. Under the 4k settings on Xbone S, the checklist indicates that I can display 4k @60
    hz but everything else is x'ed out. Will I still be able to play 4K blur ays at UHD quality? There seems to be some argument as to whether a 10bit panel is needed for it, but I would think that the content would still display at 4k, just without the HDR.

    Can anyone clarify?

    @Darren, it really doesn't. The 1-S seems to have some serious compatibility issues with 4K. There are a few other threads on here with people having similar problems.

    yea, unfortunately the support page doesn't really clarify anything. I have read people report that it does, and does not support 4k without 10bit panel. I just don't want to run out and buy some 4 k movies only to find that there playing in 1080

    @Darren, it really doesn't. The 1-S seems to have some serious compatibility issues with 4K. There are a few other threads on here with people having similar problems.
