Xbox one s 4K 60hz and Bitstream out over HDMI not an option.

I just can't understand why this is happening in this day and age. Basically my TV (4K LG) is telling the Xbox via edid that it only supports Stereo over HDMI when I know it supports bitstream or Dolby Digital over HDMI. So if I set the xbox one video out
to manual hdmi I can set audio out to bitstream over HDMI. However 60Hz is not an option so I cannot set the xbox to anything higher than 1080P because when I select 4k it says my TV is telling the xbox it doesn't support 4k 60Hz. So my only option is to output
audio over optical, which I'm out of ports, I only have 3. and have 4k or set it to output 1080P and force bitstream over HDMI. Same thing with computers, having to override the edid info because the TV incorrectly advertises settings. If only I could select
60Hz in addition to the options that are there, which are 24Hz and 50Hz. I freaking hate edid! Oh well.

    :)

The Xbox One S will run at 4K if the monitor does 4K@60Hz. When connected via HDMI, the HDMI port on the monitor must be at least version 2.0.

According to the product sheet, you should be able to get 4K@60Hz if you connect the Xbox to the HDMI 2.0 port on the monitor.

The other two HDMI ports, "HDMI 1.4" and "HDMI 1.4(MHL)" will not support 4K@60Hz, and the Xbox will likely default to 1080p.

    Xbox One S - 4K issues

    Hi Guys

    I have a Panasonic 4k 60HZ and its connected via an amplifier which has 4k output 2.2 HDMI. SKY Q runs perfectly fine but when I connect using the Xbox One S HDMI cable included I get the following issues;

    4K ticked

    50hz ticked

    24hz ticked

But when I click 4K details I get an error (red circle with cross through) Your Tv does not support 4k UHD (60hz) video output will not be upscaled to 4K.

I am only allowed to set the 4K ticked box once I take off auto TV detect and select HDMI 1080p setting....

Any help or options would be appreciated

Hdmi cabel that comes with console xbox one s 1tb can it handle 4K UHD-material at 60 hertz?

The HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox One S supports 4K@60Hz.

I've got an Xbox One S as well. I'm using the included cable with my 4K TV, and it all works fine.

The Xbox One S is advertised for 4K output. They'd better include a 4K-compatible cable!

Xbox One X 4K pass thru?

The HDMI OUT on the xbox one X is HDMI 2.1 which supports 4k at 60hz and a couple more things.

The HDMI IN is HDMI 1.4 which only supports 1920x1080p at 60hz.

Sorry, this is a hardware limitation.

    4k tv details

    Your Dell monitor's
    manual
suggests that it is only using HDMI 1.4, which is only sufficient for 4K@30Hz. It seems 4K@60Hz is only feasible when connected with DisplayPort, which is not supported by the Xbox.

Xbox One S requires that the 4K display has at least HDMI 2.0, which has the necessary bandwidth to display 4K@60Hz.

4K TV sets are pretty much expected to carry this HDMI specification, but 4K computer monitors are more of a mixed bag.

Visio 50 inch D1 not working

Some 4K TVs with multiple HDMI inputs may only truly output 4K with select ports. It may be one of the HDMI ports of the whole set, or several. Consult your TV manual for those exact details.

For 4K output, the Xbox One S must be connected to a port that supports 4K at 60Hz, with HDCP 2.2.

Try out the different ports on your TV with your Xbox until you are able to set 4K as your resolution in the display settings.
