Xbox One S 3D movies do not play until HDR is turned off

    Xbox One S 3D movies do not play until HDR is turned off


    Hi,

    My Xbox One S does not play 3D movies until i turn off HDR mode. When i put in my 3d movie, it will constantly lose the signal, and keep trying to read the movie. I have tried turning on 3d on the TV first prior to launching the
    bluray app, turning off and on the TV, and switching out HDMI cables, but nothing worked until i turned off HDR mode. As soon i turn off HDR mode on the TV, 3D signal is immediately detected. If I turn the HDR back on, It will do the same thing again upon
    the next boot-up of XBOX until i turn off the HDR mode. It does this on both of my premium Samsung SUHD TV and my LG Oled TV. I would greatly appreciate help in resolving this issue. I have read others on AV forums that are also having the same issue.

    I went to watch a 3D movie tonight and discovered the same exact thing. All of my 3D blu ray movies end up with a black screen followed by NO SIGNAL. Regular blu rays and DVDs play just fine. I tried dozens of 3D movies and they all do the same thing. I
    also have an Xbox One S and an LG 4K TV.

    Thank you AutumnsDad! I turned off 4K and HDR in the settings and they will play in this mode.

    Microsoft, please fix this, it is a pain to change settings every time I want to watch a 3D movie.

    Xbox One S 3D movies do not play until HDR is turned off

    HDR feature may not be able to be used at the same time as the 3D. Due to the addition information provided for the 3D video I wouldn't expect the HDR function to work simultaneously with 3D.

    Since 3D has been abandoned by TV manufactures I wouldn't expect further development from the Xbox Engineers on this.

    I did a quick search online and didn't find any other devices that support HDR and 3D simultaneously. I could be wrong but I don't think that's a feature out there.

    This is definitely an issue that wasn't there before. All of my 3D movies end up at a black screen, followed by NO SIGNAL message from the TV. Something was broken during an update because all of my movies worked fine before and I did not have to disable
    4K HDR. At least there is a work-around for now. Microsoft needs to fix this.
