XBox One S 1TB makes loud noise every 2-3 minutes

Thanks for getting back to us! If you are hearing that noise while the console is powered off (Instant-On mode) or without a game disc in the tray, then the noise can be coming from the actual hard disk in the internal storage drive or the movable heads
that read/write the data in the HDD. The noise can be the result of either the spinning disk or heads being out of position.

For troubleshooting purposes try a
power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console until it shuts down and then remove the power cord from the console and the power outlet. Leave the console unplugged for 5 minutes and then try again.

If you still hear the noise then it could be an issue with the HDD and I would recommend looking a warranty options. Even if the console works, a high pitched noise like you are describing is not normal and is best to use the warranty while the console
still has it. I'd recommend registering the device to your Microsoft account using the serial number printed on a sticker on the back of the console from the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices

Once registered, you will see the console's warranty status along with activation and expiration dates. As it's only been 2 weeks since you've had it, I would recommend reaching out to the cellphone company you got it from if you can exchange
it with the retailer they got it from since that would be quicker than sending it in for repair through Microsoft Device Support.

How strange, I had a one that made noise only when changing the game (even digital) but it was only for about 10 seconds the cooler was spinning so loud that it made a loud noise, but it passed fast, I hope you can solve your problem, good luck !

I booked it in for a repair. The cellphone company I got it from said that they could not exchange it for another. The repair is free, and according to microsoft, should only take 7-14 days, which is not bad at all. I used to be a PS3 fan, this is my first
XBox and I really love it apart from the noise issue. Hopefully it gets resolved quickly and I can start gaming again

Does it sound like it may be the actual hardware grinding against each other or does it sound as if the fan is simply blowing hard with the high pitch sound? It may be that the fan is blowing excessively due to lack of ventilation around the console but
if the console is well ventilated then you may want to look into a possible repair.
