    Hi _wojdazeg_,

    The xbox One S will connect to a 1440p /120hz monitor. However bare in mind that most games on the Xbox are capped to between 30 & 60hz.

    Also your monitor would have to support 120hz/1440p over HDMI as the console does not have a displayport connector.

    Hi, That would depend on which Xbox he has.

    Xbox one, Xbox one S and One X all support up to 60hz

    Whilst the new Series X and S support up to 120hz

    If the former and he isn't going to upgrade his Xbox then then 144hz isn't necessarily needed although there may be a small benefit.

    If he is going to upgrade to one of the newer systems then it would depend on how much you are prepared to spend to see the difference.
