Xbox one running when turned off....

So I noticed this morning that I could hear my Xbox fan and the mechanics working their butts off. Yet my system was turned off..... I went to touch it and the console was hot. It had apparently been ghost operating it self for some time. I turned it on
and then back off, but the sound was still there. So I ended up unplugging it. Any ideas??

Xbox one downloads when turned off!!

Apparently you didn't take the time to read your manual or go through your settings on your console. That is entirely on you. When the Xbox One says it's installing something it is also downloading any updates for that game.

So forza 5 has a 6gb update. I have a 10gb download cap on my internet otherwise I will pay 15$ per gb extra. My data was at 8gb and I was aware of that. Suddenly I get an email from ISP today stating I went way over my limit. Apparently my xbox one took
it apawn it's self to download that massive update for me without asking . I mean it was a nice jesture but now I'm out 60$ on my internet bill...when is Microsoft gonna wake up and realize a lot of people have internet caps....it's really misleading to when
all the game says is installing..is it downloading or installing data from the disc?

If you have the console set to turn on/off via voice then it will continue running in the background. You'll need to turn those settings off in the Settings menu if you want the console to shut down completely.

I had similar problem with my console. It simply couldn't be turned off. Xbox logo on console was still blinking, but screen turned black. Seemed like some process was stucked at the background blocking completion of shut down process.

I replaced it for another unit and now it works properly.

Can anyone tell me if my Power brick is faulty or is it otherwise ?

That doesn't sound like an issue that you can fix on your own especially if you've bought a new power supply. You definitely don't want to be blowing hot air in there from a blowdryer.

Just set up a return and don't even deal with the hassle. That's what I would do.
