Xbox one right stick issue

Is anyone else having this issue? Xbox one controller right stick stutters while turning right only ? I've had two controllers with this issue. If anyone knows a solution please let me know , thanks alot.

Xbox One Controller Right Analog Stick Issue **STRANGE**

Ive had my Xbox One for over a year now with no problems at all up until a week ago when my controller developed a problem.

The right analog stick is drifiting up, but strangely you can clearly see that the stick is physically still and is not moving, however it is asif the xbox thinks im pressing up but im not. For example if i was one a Shooter, Call of duty for example, then
my camera would be gradually looking into the sky whenever i let go of the analog, as im sure you can understand , this is very frustrating and can leave certain games unplayable e.g FIFA.

The strange part about this issue is i borrowed a friends controller a few days after so i could play properley, this controller worked perfect for a day or two, but then developed the same problem. Surely its a bit strange how 2 controllers have developed
a problem within a week, when ive had the Xbox for over a year and not had one problem up until this. I tried my controller on a friends Xbox one, and the problem still persists, which confirms it is the controller at fault and not the Xbox , or is it both?

Im now in a awkward situation, as i dont want to buy a controller if it is also going to have this problem, especially as they are not cheap.

Can anyone please give me the reason for why this is happening,and will a brand new controller definately sort the problem out?!

No it's not this is a new controller , I got it in October , it's the halo 5 edition so I doubt it that hard reset seem to do the trick some times but the issue comes back this is my second controller . ok miss fang! So u have the good day or night lol

 

I made this thread to see of anyone else is having this issue and was there's something different they did to fix it, I didn't make this thread to deal with sarcasm! Lol I like to fix things and find the problem before I spend more money on Microsoft products,
which I have been spending since the very first xbox

 

Lei isn't being sarcastic. Your controller is probably knackered, you could try braking it down and cleaning it but I doubt it would help. I have the same controller and the left stick has started drifting, and this controller is only 3 month's old. I've
had the same issue with 3 controllers now.

If you want to try and fix it, look online for guides, nobody can give advice on here because self repair is classed as modding hardware, and that can result in post's getting deleted and people getting banned.

Don't worry Lei. People aren't used to others being nice and polite on the Internet, and it's obviously is a shock to some people who automatically think it's sarcasm.

 

3 viadle ways to resolve such issues. Clean/Repair/Replace.

Google search on PROPER CLEANING costs next to nothing.

Logic: Eating/Sweat/Etc will find its way inside, build up under things you cannot see and throw off those VERY DELICATE pot settings just enough to cause drift and/or hinder movement in or more directions.

Prevention: Don't eat while gaming, and take breaks. Get up, walk around etc. And wash your hands often.

Face it, most gamers are up gaming at times when their bodies are shedding billions of dead skin cells.

Well, thats my conclusion. I am sure others will differ..

 

Don't eat, drink, sweat or smoke while I use my controller. I put the controller back in its box when not in use.... My controller is definitely cleaner than most people's.

Problem with my controller's, clicking the left stick to sprint is not good for the longevity of the controller. It's a problem I had with the 360 and now X1 controller's. Why some have right stick problems?... No idea. Sooner I get an Elite controller the
better I think.

 

Try updating your controller and let us know if you still have the issue.

You update your controller in the same place where you'd update the box itself in settings.

 

This is a brand new controller ! And also I'm very careful and neat with my equipment . controller is up to date , system is up to date .I find these replies disturbing. It's not a drift I didn't use the word drift so your problem and mine are two different

Your hands don't sweat Goat? Mine sure does, especially after prolonged play.

Clicking to sprint is why within the 3d assembly they incorporated a whatamacallit. (Same button as on tv's) so the only way to to prolong it is to seperate it from the assembly, and even then it will eventually wear out. Just the natural order of things.
Including electronics, Automobiles, your body etc etc etc.

However, proper maintaince can often prolong it's/our life.

OP, stutters (I assume you mean herky jerky) I find to also be caused by excessive build up WITHIN the 3D assemblies. Think about it... If grime builds to one side, what happens when you turn the stick to that side?

It (grime) gets packed up harder and harder to the point that the charcture you're playing jerks when going in that direction, but not in other directions.

If you're looking to get others to simply go along with MS building an inferior product, in this case the controller. You'll likely not find anyone here to agree with that conclusion. Especially me, even though I am not a fan of the X1, I find the controllers,
just like the 360's. To be tougher than Woodpecker lips.
