just as it seems. xbox one s controller right stick not working on steam. not able to look around with the right joystick on windows 10 in steam games. works with games from the windows store. Also causes drift in unity run time.

Hi! This is a strange issue. I had multiple controller in the last few years and all are still working fine. Did them fell?

 

I have this issue on two totally different generation in controllers. The original and the Xbox one s white controller. It's not a hardware issue.

 

stick drift/ghosting is something you will find on every single game pad/controller fr every platform on the market, It is caused simply from normal use wear and tear, over time the thumbstick sensors plastic and copper parts slightly wear introducing play.

The thumbstick sensors can be replaced if you know how to, otherwise its a new controller, 360 gamepads were very bad for this. my 2 year old xbox one s controller is still perfect though.

 

Only problem is that my original Xbox controller has been sitting in a drawer for 5 years without use. I decided to try using my original controller thinking it was going to fix the issue. But it started going the same as my usual controller. It's not
wear and tear. It's getting annoying because it's affecting every game I own.

 

This isn't just an issue with Xbox controllers, it is wear and tear through usage that happens across all platforms.
