Xbox one returned from repair scratched...

So I sent in my Xbox One for repair. Took about 3 weeks. Received it back today and I open to see that my "supposedly" Xone had scratches and smudges that I tried to clean and will not come off. I called support, first guy I talked to was very nice, I told
him I did not want to resend it ( I don't really think that will do anything). He offered an exchangement, was going to see if a fee could be waived, when the call dropped. Didn't get a call back, so called again and got on with an extreme *** with no care
on what was going on. He kept questioning why it mattered to me what my Xbox One looked like, as long as it functioned that is all that matters. Really, **** apparently you don't understand the concept of customer service. I paid $500+ on a product that I
had for 1 year with no scratches and weird smudges and when I send it in and get it back I expect it to be in the same condition. If I had bought a product that was not pre-destined to have issues, I would not be in this situation. Just wanted to see if anyone
has gone through this same issue and as well warn others.

Sorry, we are unable to play this disc.

My roommate had this same problem. Just return it or send it to xbox for repair.

Hi, don't put any more games into the Xbox - it seems like the disc is getting laser burnt, or scratched in the disc tray. If your Xbox is still under warranty, send it back to get a repair for free, otherwise you will have to pay for the repair. You should
send it back ASAP, otherwise any more games you play will become scratched and unusable.

Your frustration is understandable. I wouldn't be happy either. To pay $500 for it and you probably got back some refurbished unit that someone didn't take good care of when they had it doesn't seem right. Didn't someone say they ship them to a repair
center in Mexico? That could explain the weird smudges. I heard they eat while they work.

 

That is annoying. That's why if mine ever breaks I'm just gonna buy a new one.

 

Taking into account most people only give feedback when something is wrong, and they're quiet and content when things are going smoothly... it is weird that so many people have bad experiences with Microsoft's customer services. lol

Where is the customer services based? Is it some poor place in India or something, filled with people who find it really hard to sympathise with our first-world problems of slightly tarnished luxury items, so they get a bit douchey when they hear us whining
about it or... what?

If so, might be better for company image if you uh, localise the customer service Microsoft. [XD

 

Did this get sorted in the end? Would drive me nuts also.

 

I hate the fact that you get returned someone else's refurbished model. I take wonderful care of my things and I don't want to end up getting someone else's old Xbox they used as a frisbee.

 

I wouldn't be too bugged about it myself. I purchased a used xbox one that had a few scratches, but I just want something that works.

It would have been nice for them to apologize to you about the smudge and scratch.

I wonder if the first rep was forced to hang up, I have a feeling that he probably did.
