Xbox One restarts after I type in wifi password please help!

It says I need to setup my wireless connection, so I type in my password, and every time I do that when it is loading after I hit enter password, my Xbox One restarts and I dont know what to do, please help!

After typing my WiFi password and enter, the console shuts off and restarts. This is the second Xbox One S that has done this. I returned the first one thinking it was defective, but after my second one I'm not so sure. Help me connect to WiFi so I can
start playing please.

Hi, this thread may help if your service provider is Time Warner.

Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console until it has fully powered down.

Unplug the power cable from your Xbox One.

Unplug the power from your router and modem for 15 seconds, and then plug back in.

Hop back over to your Xbox One console and plug it back in to try this again.

If the issue persists after that, the next step I recommend is Factory Restoring your Xbox One (select 'Reset and keep my games & apps').

If this doesn't solve the issue try wiring it in and see if it does it, if it doesn't then try changing the wireless settings on your router.

 

It seems that many time the only available workaround for this issue currently is to run the console wired instead of wireless. This problem started showing up for some consoles immediately after the last major software upgrade. Hopefully, there will be
a fix coming soon.

 

This is because of Time Warners Firmware to there customers modems its likely you have Time Warner Cable, please select Eggs link above for the fix it requires you to make adjustments to your modem/router

If this is on an initial setup of a new box, I had the same problem when installing a second new XBox One S upstairs at my home. Here is how I overcame it.

1.) Hook the box up to a wired Ethernet connection with internet access

2.) Complete the initial setup and updates.

3.) Take the box back to the place you want it setup (for me this was upstairs)

4.) Go into settings and setup the wifi....for me, it did not reboot when entering the wifi password in this manner and everything works just fine via wifi since then.
