If it's showing as "There's a hardware problem", according to Xbox Support:

"This error means the network connection test has detected a problem with your console that requires a repair. "

This may mean that you need to get the console repaired via https://account.microsoft.com/devices.

Thank you for your help. I have done the power cycle as you have described here, but unfortunately it has not worked.

This message comes up: "Hardware problem 1/5 - can't connect to your wireless network. Unplug the power from your router or modem for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait for 30 seconds".

It hasn't been working for a few months now and I can only play games offline. Do you know anything else I could try please?

It won't let me get the device repaired as it says my console has ran out of warranty. What should I do please?

Choose network connectivity please and then on the box provided enter the message that you receive when you tested the network connection.
