Xbox One Reputation meter creates unwarranted negative reviews

This explains blocking, blocking doesnt mean you wont be paired in games it stops them communicating with you

As others have said best thing would be to find another lobby or play social or private. It does seem flawed to me though, should have have the option like the 360 did to avoid based on skill level to limit chances of being in the same game again which didnt
affect rep, maybe one for the feedback forum if its not already on there

 

ahh thanks fella maybe i will get a better understanding of its use after reading this, rather than other peoples versions on how They think it should be used to suit them (who's selfish ?)....

it only blocks com's so it's of no use what so ever as to use as a personal game match filter because thats how i would of used it lol

 

It does highlight though that they should bring back the other non rep affecting avoid based on skill player review, i wonder how many people are using block for matchmaking purposes, a fair few i reckon, if they had the avoid option this could be well......avoided

Hmmm did not happen. Just because it on FB, Twiter, etc does not mean it is TRUE. After all on FB this Sunday James Earl Jones died. But that was just a rumor.

StrontiumDon, my rep on the 360 was, and still is, good. I don't recall the exact numbers, but there were a few bits of negative feedback (not reports, like on the One, mind you - actual feedback) according to my reputation details, but nothing severe overall.
Unlike you, I was also a very sociable player. If I didn't have friends to play with, I was chatting up strategy and tactics in a lot of the shooters that I played in order to help my team win (I was a team player through and through). There were a few players
that would tell me to shut up from time to time, but I imagine they just muted me - I would even recommend it to them if they kept complaining about me, as I didn't want to ruin their fun; however, I was also quick to remind them that if they did, they would
lose out on my call-outs (like where the enemy was, for example). If anything, I made a lot of friends with the way I communicate in-game.

 

Thanks for the reply GG,the point I'm making is that the 360 rep system was abused,and I think the same thing is happening on the one imho.

 

While I wouldn't doubt it, I think the abuse isn't as bad on the One BECAUSE of the way it's designed.

 

If anybody wants to get out of red the only way seems to be to play with others who are in the red, which is realistically impossible--so it seems like almost a lifetime multiplayer online ban,.

If you add me at , I'm trying to form a group of people to get on a game like Halo (not limited to Halo) and play together to improve reputation and be allowed to play again. Message me for details.

Cobalt, that's not true at all! You can play with your friends (who aren't in the red) - you just need to join their game or be invited into them 1st. Do that, and you'll have no problem getting your rep back up to normal over time.

 

Or we could just ditch the reputation meter.
