I'm so frustrated. Have just bought remote 5 and 6 for my son. The joysticks keep breaking . What a con. At first I thought my son was being too rough but having watched/listened and he seems to use them normally. Never had problem Play station or 360.
In fact having had 4 kids and every console ever sold I can't believe more people aren't complaining about this. Hold on - you can't complain. How do you contact them really. Now spent more than the console on remotes. One also developed drift out of the blue.
Last one left broke on his birthday. To top it off the 2 new ones bought from amazon have come without headphone jack .what a con. Now trying to complain and return. Presume they are the old model which wasn't advertised! Will Microsoft address the issue with
the remotes. I doubt it.

:)

Media Remote and Xbox One
Is there anyway to get the Xbox 360 Media Remote to work with the Xbox One?
Unfortunately the Xbox 360 remote is not compatible with the Xbox One and at the moment the Microsoft are not planning to change this.
Still any possibility to a new Xbox One media remote that has numbers? The new one has no number pad, so i can't use it to change channels. Still any possibility to a new Xbox One media remote that has numbers? The new one has

Microsoft may redesign and release the Xbox One media remote similar to how they did with the Xbox 360 remote in the future but this is just speculation however I believe there are some 3rd party remotes that maybe have the use of a number pad to change
channel such as Logitech Harmony remote range. I believe the control is designed like this to possible make people use the Kinect features more.

IR Extender or Repeater Question

No, not in the way I need. The Kinect does push IR signal to other devices, but it wont accept a signal from the remote to push to the One. I thought it was at first too, but it is not according to Microsofts XBOX One Media Remote Page. See the "Using
The Media Remote" here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/xbox-one-media-remote-info#a9c721fbfb30407aaf1cfdb82bad46f8

Having trouble getting the new Xbox 360 Media Remote to work with my Xbox 360 console.

If this is the first time you've had/used an Xbox 360 Media Remote, you have to go to System Settings > Remote Control and change the setting from either "Windows Media Center" or "Both" (depending on which version of the Xbox Console you have) to "Xbox
Remote". For some reason, the default setting is the WRONG one. That's most likely what's causing your remote to not work.

If you ALREADY have it set to "Xbox Remote" and it still doesn't work, you may have a defective remote if it's an official Microsoft Xbox 360 Media Remote.

If it's a 3rd Party remote, made by a different brand, in all likelihood you've wasted your money on a remote that doesn't actually work for the Xbox 360. The only 3rd party remote I recommend and will vouch for is a very hard to find European model, the
Snakebyte Media Remote. It's the only one that gets good reviews. When I wanted a black Xbox 360 Media Remote with Backlit Keys, I tracked one down on eBay, and I can personally attest that it works every bit as well as the official Microsoft
remotes. But good luck finding one, they are very scarce right now. I consider myself very lucky to have managed to track one down. ^_^
