Xbox One Remote Signal

If I pick up any other remote in my lounge I can literally almost point it in any direction and it will operate the box it is designed for. This is not the same for the XBOX one remote. You have to literally point it at the XBOX one and its not very forgiving.
I often find myself having to try a button multiple times before it picks up the signal. Does anyone else have this issue?

IR Extender or Repeater Question

No, not in the way I need. The Kinect does push IR signal to other devices, but it wont accept a signal from the remote to push to the One. I thought it was at first too, but it is not according to Microsofts XBOX One Media Remote Page. See the "Using

Xbox one s not sincing with soundbar properly (old xbox one is fine)

Update: I tried to sync it with a different xbox one s and it does the exact same thing, so it seems the remote signal output for this soundbar and probably many other Samsung soundbars since they most likely use the same remote signals is incorrect from
the xbox. Hopefully this is fixed in the next system update.

 

Not having that issue, but the Xbox One Controller can be sensitive to outside interference. I suggest removing items within that can run interference!

Thanks Linden for the reply? However Did you read my post? My post relates to the Xbox One Media Remote, not a controller. Although I do also suffer from controller disconnects of which I have detailed here.

Why does everyone just keep referring us to the controller troubleshooting page. Everyone has tried all those steps!!!! Anyway back to the problem. The remote is not accurate enough or act the same way as any other remote.

 

It seems to be a common complaint on the amazon reviews of the product. Lots of people saying its very directional.
