    Xbox One Remote doesn't work with certain app?


    Bought an Xbox One remote for my wife to use with the fitness app and found it isn't fit for the purpose I bought it for, also found that the remote doesn't work with the YouTube app....are there any workarounds? It's such a pain using the controller for
    controlling the fitness and youtube apps!

    It's not just a lack of support for the Xbox One Media Remote. I have a Logitech Harmony Remote that works with the Xbox One and it also doesn't work with the YouTube App. The only device that seems to work with the YouTube app is the controller. It's a
    shame since the Xbox One Media Remote works really well in other apps like Twitch,Crackle and Machinama.

    Harmony One and Xbox One

    Anybody else update their harmony one remote ?? Logitech did a great job. I finally got my remote setup this last weekend and I got to say it works great. I mapped out all the buttons pretty easily. It seems like the Xbox One is much more responsive than
    the 360, with the 360 I often had to hold the remote at a certain angle to hit the IR port....The harmony one works very good at navigating around the home screen and different apps as well. Anyone have programable remotes that work well with xbox one??

    Nope, as usual, no help from the so-called support team. They don't tend to respond to questions they don't like or can't copy and paste a generic response to.

    I have the remote and it works with my youtube app. What it won't do is adjust volume on my tv. when I am watching live tv

    This still appears to be a problem, for what it's worth.

    The SmartGlass app on my Surface 4 does not work within Netflix for Select or to Scroll. Other butons within the app's Remote work.

    Voice commands, the standard Xbox controller, and my Xbox One Media remote all work. It's just SmartGlass that doesn't, which is disappointing that this is still an issue over 6mos after this was first reported and summarily ignored.

    My Harmony remote partially stopped working within certain apps, like Netflix and Amazon. I say partially, because I think it is just the lack of directional buttons. The colored buttons, FF and REW all seem to work. But I use the remote to move around
    the apps to pick a show or movie to watch.

    The xbox app on the tablet would be used for just a remote feature or for streaming. There are certain digital games that are play anywhere, but they only work on PC as long as the min specs are met. You wouldn't be able to play xbox games on a tablet.
