Xbox One region...US/Canada the same?

I want to buy an Xbox One from a reputable retailer in Canada, but I'm in the US. Will there be any problems finding games or issues with my Live account?

DLC download probelm

Since your account region and physical region do not match you will not be able to download or re-download that content as it is region locked. For region locked content to work you need to meet ALL of the criteria in order to gain access to it.

Account Region+Game Disc Region+Physical Live in Region=ALL must match

US+US+US=Access US+US+Canada=Denied US+Canada+Canada=Denied US+Canada+UK=Denied

To get that content back again you would need to physically be in the account region, in your case the US.

Changing the account region ????

I recently bought an xbox 360 and in the setup process I created an xbox live account, however the account region was created with a US region and I live in Canada. I can't setup the billing information for XBOX live gold because I can't change the region
to Canada !!!

Is there a way to change the default US region on your account ?

You should be ok with purchasing an Xbox One from Canada. Both the power requirements and region codes (NTSC) are the same.

But be aware that if you want to purchase a Gold membership from a Canadian retailer that you will run in to issues using it as they are region locked.

ok just to let u guys know the region is the same. IT is canada, canada, canada. I have been in canada my whole life. the region of the account is canada and I am in canada and my black ops is from canada. also I dont think that canada and the US have
different games. In canada we also get NTSC-U games. we get the same games that u guys get in the US

I have the same problem with the region of the child's account is not the same as the parent's region. The difference is that I'm in Canada and not the UK (I came across the forum by searching). My billing region is Canada, the region on my console is
Canada, the regions showing on the profiles are Canada.

I see that someone fixed the problem by changing the extension on their email address. Both my son's email address and the parental address are using .ca, which is Canadian so that won't work for me.

Are there any other suggestions?

I got the same problem, Im from Canada and it says: "Sorry you are not able to buy video at the moment - to make purchases , you need to be in the region for your xbox profile. If you hae moved permanently, change your region at account.xbox.com.

Can't see a reason why this doesn't work. Set my Xbox region to Canada / US and everything.

I may just go across the border next time I buy gas and redeem the code through my phone when roaming.

Geoip doesn't consider Canada the same as the us you should know.this already as content from the us doesn't apply to Canada ever due to Canadian laws
