    Xbox one Region free...


    Hi,

    I need guidance on the moving from XBox 360 to Xbox one. I have Xbox 360 console from UK which supports PAL version. I am currently in US and would like to switch to XBox one. But i heard from Xbox customer care that if i buy One in US then it would not support
    my PAL version games that i already have for 360. Also i have plans to move back to my home country india which also supports PAL version. So if i take Xbox one here in US then would it cause any issues in playing xbox one games purchased in India? Can someone
    suggest. I would like to know if there will be any issues in playing multiplayer games as well.

    Xbox One from the US (Region free? Advantages? Disadvantages?)

    The Xbox one is region free for games.

    But for DVD's and Blu-rays, it is region locked. So your Xbox from the states would only be able to play region 1 discs

    Xbox one Region free...

    The xbox one is region free when it comes to disc games.

    The only issues you may have when moving back to India is with digital purchases,some may not work.

    To add to what Daft said. If you are planning on traveling globally with your Xbox from the US to India, and vise verse, you should get a second power supply as the plugs at the end are different. Contact support and let them know what you're doing so they
    can order you one.

    from what I've read, the Xbox One console is region free, except China?
    Though Xbox One is region free for games, all the Xbox 360 games are not region free.

    Hi,

    Physical games on the Xbox One platform are region free and work on all Xbox One console's.

    So regardless of any region differences with Series X, your Xbox One games will not be affected as the region free is hard coded into the discs (for want of a better explanation). My guess is that the Series X will be region free for physical games anyway.

    Thats strange. The xbox one is region free and so are xbox one games. Even digital codes are region free. Are you sure you didnt buy a 360 game ?

    True, all I was saying that the Xbox One won't be totally region free. The OP may have read "region free" and think everything on the console would be region free (which it obviously isnt)

    Xbox One DLCs are region free whereas Xbox 360 DLCs are region locked.
