Xbox One recharge battery pack doesn't fit in controller....

Hello Everyone,

So I've had the xbox one since last xmas but i recently just used some xmas money to buy the recharge pack (official microsoft one no less). For starters...yes i put the battery in the right way (exactly matched the pictures). It was like the controller
was too small for the battery pack (yes i got the xbox ONE recharge pack, not the 360...). When i put the cover plate on it took some...work...to get it on. The battery itself doesn't work, like when i plug it into the xbox it just stays yellow..it isn't
charging at all. Secondly I've went out and bought a second battery pack to see and that one doesn't charge either.

it is literally the fact that microsoft gave me a controller that is defective in terms of its specifications for the battery pack. Any ideas out there? I really don't want to fight with microsoft over a 50 dollar controller (or more) but if this isn't
resolved I'm retuning this second battery pack and i'll fight with microsoft to send me a replacement controller..one WITH the right specifications for a recharge pack...

Possible Controller Failure?

i would assume the same, its losing connectivity from the battery pack. if its a recharge, try AA batteries, if youre using batteries try a recharge pack. could be a faulty recharge pack if you are infact using one. another thing ive had happen is the bottom
of the controller where the pack meets the controller was cracked and made the battery pop off during gameplay (obviously super irritating.) i just eneded up buying a chatpad which added support to the cracked area and fixed the issue.

You will use the micro USB to recharge the Battery Pack. Buying rechargeable batteries is an alternative to buying the battery pack.

I had a similar issue with my Xbox one Controller battery pack ended up using AA batteries, tested many of them the best AA batteries I came across with in term of play time, I found them on here:

Hi teno1878, the controllers are a completely new design on the Xbox One and your rechargeable pack won't fit on the new controllers. The packs/battery compartment on the Xbox One controllers are flush with the controller and don't pop out. Also shaped horizontally.

i just took the rechargable battery pack out of my controller and fidled with the release button on top of the battery pack and it fits in nice now and doesnt come loose. but the release button doesnt stick out at all like the original battery pack. it sits
flush with the controller.. is this the same for you mate??

My controller doesn't take batteries it's the elite series 2 it has a built in rechargeable battery pack

To resolve this issue, determine the faulty component and then replace that component:

The Xbox One Wireless Controller

To troubleshoot the wireless controller, try using AA batteries, or try a different Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack to verify that nothing is wrong with the controller. If the controller works with different batteries, it isn't causing the issue.

The Xbox One Play & Charge cable

To check whether the cable is the problem, try a different Play & Charge cable (or any standard USB to micro-USB cable) to charge the battery. If the battery charges correctly with a different cable, your charge cable is faulty.

The rechargeable battery

To troubleshoot the rechargeable battery, try the following:

Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the four gold contacts on the Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack and on the Xbox One Wireless Controller. Then try to charge the battery again.

Try a different Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack with the charge cable. If the second battery charges correctly, your original battery is faulty.
