Xbox One reboots when connecting to wireless router

Hi Jim,

How is your Xbox One connected to your router? (wired or wireless)

Also, how many routers do you use in your network for the same SSID? (for example, I have one router, and it has another router connected to it which behaves as an access point)

Try a few things:

1.) If your Xbox is connected via an Ethernet cable, disconnect it and connect via wireless instead. If it's connected via wireless, try using an Ethernet cable.

2.) If the above does not work, can you login to your router and set the DHCP settings so that your Xbox One has a dedicated IP address? Then, reboot your router, reboot your Xbox One, and reboot your windows 10 PC. Then launch the Xbox app, and when you
try to add the Xbox One, you can enter the exact IP address of the Xbox that you had set in your router's settings.

Also Red.....reboot your router......Sometimes the router will not allow another client to connect. Easiest way to reboot is unplug the router wait 10 seconds or so and plug it in. Then reboot all your wireless clients (devices)

I use a Wireless Connection. Even i reboot the Router it still happens,

Hi shrews9999, I am assuming that you're using a wireless connection? If you're using the older style Xbox, try disconnecting your wireless adapter, rebooting your Xbox, then go to the wireless settings and delete the connection there. If you're using
the new slim Xbox, try turning your router off then rebooting your Xbox and see if you can delete the connection then.

Also. are you able to set up a new connection at all?

It turns out that my router has scheduled reboots on Wednesday and Saturday. Since turning the scheduled reboots off, I no longer have issues with the wireless on the Xbox. Guess the Xbox can't withstand losing its wifi connection when it is turned off
in instant on mode or essentially sleep mode.
