XBOX One really doesn't like discs

I don't know if this is a regular experience but my Xbox One seems to take 6 or 7 times to read a disc and recognise it. COD, Titanfall and anything else it's all the same. The disc spins a bit an stops. Remove, insert again up to 7 times and then finally
the game kicks off. If you start the game from the dashboard I get asked 'do you own this game'?' followed by cancel or go to the store. Then I re-insert the disc up to 7 times and then it starts the game.

Is this really the next generation of gaming?

OK I could buy games digitally but on average the cost is 20% more than buying in-store even though they don't have to ship a disc!

Changing language for each individual game

You mean Call of Duty USK discs, because it doesn't really matter from which countries you download the DLC for games like GTA IV.

 

WILL YOU GUYS EVER MAKE 360 GAMES COMPATIBLE WITH THE XBOX ONE???

Apparently if it runs games it must be exactly the same, amirite?

It's like putting a PS3 disc in the Xbox 360. They are two completely different systems. In fact, it's more likely that PS4 discs would work in Xbox One than 360 discs.

 

Did you try stroking it? XD

Since I am an Xbox Ambassador, here are some tips:

1. Hold the Power Button on the actual box for 10 seconds. Give it a minute and reboot it, see if it has been fixed.

2. Place the discs in completely flat otherwise the discs will not read.

3. If the worst comes to the worst you have a faulty disc drive. Get it replaced with advanced exchange.

Hope the first one fixes it.

 

Yeah I had the same problem especially with titanfall. The latest update seemed to improve the situation a lot... Make sure you are running that...

 

Actually they are no longer offering the advanced exchange for bad disk drive issues.

 

I've been having this same issue with both disk based and digital games.

 

Take the disc out and blow it, then blow in the disc drive.....

This used to work on my Atari, NES, Super NES, N64..... Maybe this tactic will be backwards compatible with the X1?
