Xbox One "Real Name"

I signed into my console today to a new prompt asking for my name for the account. After numerous hard resets, it wouldnt go away so relunctaly I put the name on file of my account into the required fields. What I did not expect was for my name to be plastered
all over my console. This is riduclous. If I wanted my name to be on my console, I would of made one of those ridculous gamertags with my name in it; otherwise, I stick to my persona "". Forcing this has outright made me question if Xbox is for
me, wherein features like these which are NOT welcome, NOT appreciated, and down right have impaired my ability to enjoy the console are forced upon.

Make an option to remove this. I am sick and tired of this already and I've only signed in once.

Xbox one "real name"

However you should know that no one can see your name unless you choose to allow it. It is a feature that some people wanted so Microsoft added it.

Upon further investigation I have found the root cause of this issue, wherein now old XBL accounts are being forced to update their info with a display name. This does NOT work well for me, as with the previous set up my PC was seperate from my Xbox; I could
use my Gamertag as my Xbox Persona and keep my real name on the PC. Fix this microsoft.

That's where the right people will see it and can work to do something.

Thank you for the reply but did you actually read my question? I’ve already tried that and provided picture proof showing it too. For some reason the name associated with my gamertag (see the first picture) won’t change but it’s changed everywhere else.

I've just changed it today to 'Tom Archie' instead of 'Tom Archer'.

Currently, i can see that Outlook, Microsoft website and the settings on my Xbox One X show my name as 'Tom Archie' - so the change has taken effect which is good.

However, my gamertag name still shows as 'tom archer' (my gamertag 'arch53' is unaffected of course).. i will wait a couple days and see....

Here's how to change your display name if you're signed in to your Microsoft account:

Sign in to the Your info page on the Microsoft account website.
Under your name, select Edit name. If there’s no name listed yet, select Add name.
Enter the name you want, then type the CAPTCHA and select Save. Some names may not be allowed if they contain blocked words or phrases. If you get an error when you enter your name, try a nickname instead.

If the display name doesn't change right away, or if the old name is still showing in emails, your information may be cached. To get the name to update quickly, you can switch to your local account, then sign back in to your Microsoft account.

Yeh I’ve already tried that and my second picture shows it’s worked / transferred to my Xbox. However the first pic shows that the name on my gamer tag is still lowercase and not changed
