Xbox one randomly turns off

My new Xbox One from the first day I got it randomly shuts down while playing games. No error messages are displayed. This happens after running just a few minutes and but has not stayed on for more than 45 minutes at a time without shutting down.

The Xbox is in a ventilated area with nothing on top of it. The power supply is plugged into the wall and not a power strip.

your all wrong. its the faulty xbox S power bricks. their *** quality. and i've had to send mine off 2 or 3 times since i bought mine and another time i actually managed to find one and buy it. and mine has just shat itself again (reason why i am on here).

Same thing happens to me when I try playing Killer Instinct Season 2 or any of the games I have downloaded. I can't get through to anyone to figure out how to fix it.

It sounds like their may be a defect. However, just to cover all your bases, go int the power settings and examine them to see when the system sleeps. Also if your console is going off, and you turn it back on and it comes up very quickly, it does sound
like it's going to sleep for some reason and may not be hardware issue.

Same here. My happens when streaming Netflix or Amazon, usually after about 40 minutes or so. I talked to the support people and they have no clue apparently yet. They had me clear some alternate mac addresses in the network settings but that didn't work.
I also power cycled the thing (hold the power button until it shuts off, then turn it on after a few minutes). Mine is not a overheating issue either.

Also my Xbox is over a year old, day one edition, and I get the preview updates.

Hopefully someone can figure this out sooner rather than later.

I had to updated my console to install rdr2 to updated it an a couple of games, an now it's like it has a mind of its own turning off randomly, sometimes it Will turn off while it is stating up

It could be a failing power supply. That is covered on that page.

{Parity}

Here are some instructions I found on clearing the persistent storage. Notice is says to clear it 3 times.

Press the Menu button > Settings > Blu Ray & Disc > Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage THREE times.

Follow these steps to power cycle your Xbox One Console: 1. While the console is on, press and hold the console's Xbox button for 5 seconds.

Everything works until the "Schedule a Repair" link. From there is just sort of stops. Nothing happens. That was close though That is the farthest I have ever gotten.

The only option in that case would be arguably to take it to a Microsoft store but that'd be dependent on that option being available to you, everything else is done through the website in order to be traceable and avoid a situation being open to spoofing.
