Xbox one randomly snapping and unsnapping

    Xbox one randomly snapping and unsnapping


    For the past couple of days while playing games my xbox will randomly snap, unsnap, open up programs in snap, take screenshots, and upload videos. While this all takes place I have absolutely NO control over my xbox and have to wait out it's 1-2min episode.
    I've powered cycled and tried clearing my cache but nothing works, my xbox is still doing this. Please help.

    Working for me so far. I had it give me an "information not available" response once when I tried to snap it up, but unsnapping the app and re snapping it got it back in order.

    How to Use Snap

    Snap allows Xbox One users to open multiple panes in a single window, allowing you to do things like watch TV and play a game simultaneously.

    1. To use Snap, press your Xbox button to go to the Home screen.
    2. Next go to the box labeled "Snap", which will open a snap sidebar inside your main window.

    Do keep in mind that using Kinect you can simply say "Xbox Snap" or "Xbox Snap (insert app)" and it will work just the same. One example would be "Xbox Snap ESPN" or "Xbox Snap Internet Explorer"

    3. Next select the app that you want to Snap from the list that pops up. (This will open the app in a side window.)
    4. To close a Snapped app, simply return to the home screen and select Unsnap. Likewise on Kinect simply say "Xbox Unsnap"


    To switch between a Snapped app and the main app or to control one over the other, use the Kinect Command "Xbox switch" or you can go to the Home Screen with the controller and switch between them. I find the best (easiest) way is to "double tap" the Xbox button to switch between them without having to go to the home screen or talk to your Kinect. ​

    Using your voice Say “Xbox, unsnap.”

    Say "Xbox Unsnap," or go the home screen and unsnap it by selecting the snapped twitch and pressing the menu button to open up options.

    This sounds like you have snapped the help app.

    If you have Kinect, say "Xbox, unsnap"

    If you don't have Kinect;

    Quickly double tap the Xbox button on your controller

    A Cross icon will appear between the game and the snapped app.

    Press DOWN on D-Pad to select "Unsnap"

    To snap an app again, double tap the Xbox button and follow on screen prompts.
