    Xbox purchased in Europe to be used in India

    Hallo,

    I am very new to this and searched quite a few forums on my question but have still some confusion. I am planning to purchase a Xbox 360 - 250GB Konsole for my kid. am currently in Switzerland and came to know about the region locks when i was about to
    bill it but here the billing guy said if it is PAL in India, the konsole and any games / DVDs will work on it. Now not sure but any experience shall give me some confidence in buying.



    Is there anyone from India who have purchased a xbox in Europe and wanted to know the following.

    1. Does your console from Europe work with any games purchased in India ? (India we use PAL, Europe also uses PAL).

    2. Does dvd / CDs purchased in India work on the console ? Are there any problems ?





    Thanks in advance for your answers. Appreciate if any one can guide.

    Shifting the Xbox one s to India

    If I have an Xbox one s console purchased in the US and want to take it with me to India, will it work? I am not asking about the voltage conversion, but about the region compatibility of the console. Will the purchased games work in India too?

    If your console is a PAL machine you will have no problems playing PAL games purchased in India on your console, as long as they say PAL on the box. DVD movies on the other hand, will not play on your console. Switzerland is DVD Region 2, India is Region
    5. Although my guess is you should be able to purchase some UK or European R2 DVD's in India that will play on your console.

    Like I said before, games won't be an issue though.

    Sadly the xbox one will be region locked to the us. Codes and games bought in india will not work with the xbox one, however if you were to have family, or friends that you trust buy games/codes in the us they should work in india. The codes and games
    purchased must match the region your account/xbox originated from.

    Hello,

    When you purchase a console in the United States you need to worry about a couple of times.

    First, there is a different power supply used in India than there is in the United States. You will need to purchase a specific power supply for India by contacting Xbox Support in India.

    Second, the ability to download games on Xbox LIVE and purchase Microsoft Points all depends on where your account is registered. You would need to make an account that's valid in India and then you will be able to buy and download available games on the Indian
    marketplace for Xbox LIVE.

    And finally, third, your inability to purchase physical game discs in India because India has PAL games (Made for Europe). You would need to out of your way to get physical disc copies of games in NTSC (North American) version, as those are the only ones that
    will work with your console.

    live, it matters where the product was purchased.
    and also I am a registered Xbox customer from India only.
    Registering on a site from a country does not magically make all products you purchased fall under that country's warranty.



    There are products that come with international warranties. The 360 is not one of them.
