Discus and support Xbox One purchased 4/18/2014 in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Also purchased an Xbox One today and couldn't get the update.     Also purchased an Xbox One today and couldn't get the update. Spoke with a rep who asked me to return it to Best Buy. Second console also didn't work. I'm a network engineer, tried tons of settings, wired/wireless, peripherals plugged or unplugged and nothing.
    Second call I was informed they now know it's an issue. What I was told is the they can't give us an ETA on when it'll be up or any reimbursement (I asked because my xbox live account I'm paying for and can't access) because it's an unexpected outage. They
    can give you an avatar t-shirt which I declined. Apparently the console comes basically without an OS and you cannot do the offline tool to troubleshoot the initial update. Pretty poor on MS's part IMO, but basically we have $500 plastic boxes until they fix
    their issues. Can't wait to see how hard the servers are hit once they come back online. Happy Waiting!

    I have spent 4 hours trying to trouble shoot an initial download on a brand new Xbox. I am disappointed in Microsoft as a company and Xbox as a brand. I always considered myself loyal to Xbox for life.

    Sooo *** off. I have to play my crappy 360 now? It's like having keys to a Ferrarri but nahhhh. I'll drive the old rusty Taurus. My life sucks right now

    hi guys just turned my xbox one on at 8.30am uk time finally done the first update seems working on my now hope its fixed for all you guys iv completed my set up this morning no problems

    Same problem here - as annoying as it is I'm glad I don't need to pack this thing up and bring it back right now, too many pieces.
