    Xbox One - Purchase and Transfer of Games


    I purchased a used xbox yesterday. Part of the purchase included the games that the person purchased. These games were digital downloads and did not come with the disc.

    The seller provided me with their user account info, but I don't want to have to login to their account to access the downloaded content.

    Is there a way that I can have the ownership of the games transferred to me? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    hi

    my son has been playing minecraft, saint row, far cry 4 etc in Xbox 360. is it possible to transfer the games to xbox one? minecraft is an online purchase. rest all the discs we bought from Game.

    he doesnt want to upgrade to xbox one but ofcourse we are missing out the new features of xbox one and xbox 360 is getting out dated fast and would value for nothing soon.. ihave few consoles left like that and lying in the garage.. (ps2, xbox, psp etc)..

    any advice on transferring the games would be helpful for me to decide on xbox one..

    Destiny: Legendary Edition Transfer

    I was wondering, if I purchase the Destiny legendary edition on my xbox 360, will I have to repurchase the game and dlc again on xbox one, or will I be able to transfer my purchases?

    No you can not transfer digital games from one account to another. Also, I must mention that you should not be buying an account as selling and buying accounts is not something that Microsoft advocates.

    Thanks for taking the time to bring this inquiry to us! Short answer no. The game licenses are owned by the account as stated on our

    Digital Games FAQ    . What can be done is adding an alias to the account effectively removing the original account and replacing it with a new

    Microsoft account alias    . Check these steps out and let us know if we can further assist in this or any other issue.

    Game purchases cannot be transferred to another account.

    The seller should not have sold you the Xbox including digital games. If you do as XBF Nestor S suggested, the original account holder can still get their account back and you could end up with enforcement action.

    will license transferred 360 games carry over to the xbox one's backward compatibility

    License Transferring does what the name says, it transfers the licenses of games to a different console. Transferring 360 games will not work with Xbox One's BC, it will only work with the account that they was purchased with.

    ONLY digitally purchased movies, TV shows, and music will transfer to the Xbox One. Xbox 360 games both digital and physical will NOT transfer over.

    Hi EricPaulZ,

    Currently purchased Vbucks do not transfer to other platforms.

    For example you can not use the Vbucks on PC if you purchased them on Xbox.

    However, the in game items you spend your Vbucks on DO transfer.

    • Vbucks CAN NOT be transferred to any other platform than the one you purchased them on.
    • Vbucks earned from the Battlepass DO transfer.
    • Vbucks earned from Save the World DO transfer.
    • Items purchased with Vbucks DO transfer.

    In a nut shell, Vbucks that you Purchase CAN NOT be transferred. Vbucks that you Earn CAN be transferred.
