    Xbox One PSU overheating


    My Xbox One PSU keeps over heating and shutting down the Xbox, it was working fine the other day. I can keep it on for an hour or 2 before it becomes to hot and shuts down. I don't have another $40 to purchase another power supply, any way to fix this?

    Xbox keeps turning off

    PLugged into a surge protector and NEVER had a single problem. It sounds like you either have a bad PSU or you're overheating badly and the fail safe is shutting you down.

    Sounds like it is overheating. Have you got plenty of airspace around the xbox and the PSU? You need a good couple of inches all around to allow fresh air to circulate.

    If it is under warranty, you should be able to send it back and get a replacement for free. I would contact support first. If it is under warranty, they should send you a replacement one once they receive the faulty one.

    If it is not under warranty, you could attempt to send it back for repairs, but this may also cost money.

    I talked to support, the guy kept saying it should be covered under warranty, but it keeps asking me to pay $35 USD.

    I would suggest giving support a ring back, explain that the site is trying to charge you for a replacement for a PSU still under warranty. They should be able to set up the replacement for you via telephone.

    Make shure your PSU stays in a well vented area where e brees fresh air is to test it if it is a Problem of the Location... Try also using it without multiplugs and powerstrips...

    A replacement should be cared under warranty, but if you want to Exchange it you^ll Need pay a Depot untill they get your broken PSU..

    If you request a Repair, should be for free

    I would suggest giving support a ring back, explain that the site is trying to charge you for a replacement for a PSU still under warranty. They should be able to set up the replacement for you via telephone.

    Xbox One won't stay on anymore, is it really just the power supply?

    Hard to say but it might be worth it to get a new power supply. Is it possible to test with a friends XBOX PSU?

    Also, there are no overheating issues correct?
