I love how this happens almost twice every month. Not trading in 175$ for the xbox one slim, honestly junk service, always a recurring issue. Thanks Microsoft.

Same here, managed to sign in now though.

I fail to see how it would be any better on PS4.

oh gosh i couldn't stand psn their services r more terrible than xbox live thats why i switched to xbox one

 

There is an active service alert for this issue:
support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status

It covers both consoles and it is happening to everyone. I would check that link regularly for updates on the issue.
