Xbox one Profile delete

My son got some gift cards for his xmas and was trying to use them after scratching them off and putting into his account. When he tried to download the games he was asked for his password, it turns out he has set-up the xbox with the incorrect email back
in Sept/Oct time. We are unable to change the passoword as the email does not exist, the only option we had was to delete the account and create another account on the console. This has now lost all xbox live data and also all his gift cards. I have had to
buy another yearly subscription for him to get online. Phoned up support earlier who spoke with me for about 5 mins then hung up! This is a shambles and a rip-off! Never again!

Deleting downloaded profile?

I decided to dust off my 360 and I downloaded my profile awhile ago. But if I delete it and not my actual profile. All of my saves and data will still be there, right? Because from what I read. The only point of downloading your profile, is if you want to log in to a different console.

Saves should be fine, proflie can be deleted and redownloaded.
