XBox one problems with friends

So I've recently moved into my college dorm room, i have an Ethernet running wired connection from the school on IPv4 and IPv6 and I'm getting good internet connection and network statistics. The problem I am dealing with is that I cannot play with my friends
and this has only happened after moving in. I have tried a few multiplayer games and can play the games alone fine, however any time I try to connect with my friends, for example rocket league, I can join their parties and my name pops up in the bottom part
establishing that I am in their party, but when they try to queue, I will not get put into any queue and can't connect. However my friend made a private match on the game with a password to join and I was able to connect to that perfectly fine and play with
him alone, but when he queues a private match without the lobby password, i won't get put in. Also in borderlands 2, I cannot connect at all to my friends game and it tells me to check my network statistics as if there were a problem with the internet. This
issue has been persisted and the school's IT department doesnt know.

Xbox one and Xbox 360

I recently switched to a Xbox One and I'm having problems teaming up with my friends that have the 360. Is there a fix out there or do I need new friends to play with?

You're going to have that problem on your schools network because of all the firewalls they will have setup to block malicious and bandwidth bogging content. Gaming is a bandwidth killer, so they are probably blocking the necessary ports to allow for an
open NAT. Computers tend to soar through without as many issues because they require different ports to connect while the ports for gaming tend to be blocked on networks like your school uses. You're best option would be to consult the schools IT department
or find another gamer on campus that has a console and see if there is a work around.

Good to knw that im not the only one having this problem. My friends list both on xbox live and xbox.com say no friends but my friend say im on their lists still. They may hav fixed the problem with signing in but this problem really needs fixed

i have call last week and they suggest me to open my NAT . But the problem was strange and i i'm not sure that is the NAT . All work good and suddenly i lost one of my friend after a battlefield party game after all my 3 other friend quit the game and party
a message say to me than i can't connect to xbox live party . i was enable to join again my friend or play a game with him from that moment to today . yesterday the problem is repeating with an other friend . last week the problem as started with another friend
but at the end of the week the problem was resolve itself and i was able to party with him . Xbox want i open ma NAT but it's strange i lost suddenly one friend and another one week later i'm not sure that is a rooter problem ! NAT will not shut up suddenly
one friend and some week later he take randomly another of my friend and block him for the fun !! It's very strange and i'm not the only one to have this problem !!
