  1. Xbox One problem, Xbox Live problem or home network problem?

What Country/State/Province do you live in? USA

Modem brand & model number: Verizon FiOS MI424WR

Router brand & model number: Verizon FiOS MI424WR

How many 360 and One consoles are connected to this router?: 1

Wired or wireless (for each console): Wireless

Things you have tried: A bunch

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown - Apparently this option has been removed from the FiOS MI424WR router

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? Open/Cone

Any Error Codes you encounter: 87DD0017

Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Verizon FiOS

I've gone through and forwarded the ports per the Xbox Live page, given a static IP to the device, and verified that my NAT type is Cone.

After I did all of those things, I removed my unsigned-in Xbox Live account from the device and did a hard reset. After restarting, I again verified that I was connected to the network (via the Check Connection and Check Multiplayer Connection tests) and
    then went to sign in.

I was able to successfully sign into Xbox Live on the third try, the first two returned 87DD0017 errors. Then, upon signing in, I was unable to view my friends list/my avatar/my achievements. I saw there was a service issue on the Xbox Live support page,
but it said that the core services and the apps section of Xbox Live should be up and running. I went to download the Netflix app as a test, and kept getting "Installation stopped" messages when I tried to install it. After a few tries I was able to get to
a "Accept terms of service" screen, but when I clicked Accept I received an "We don't know what happened, try again in a bit" message.

This is really trying my patience. I don't know what else I could be doing wrong. Any ideas?

    :)

  2. Xbox Live Down?

Nintendos network pales in comparison to Xbox Live. You get what you pay for.

  4. Xbox One problem, Xbox Live problem or home network problem?

Hey AlexRules6969, sorry to hear about the issue. From my experience it looks like 1 of 2 things, either some corrupted files have built up on the console, which can happen from a number of things, or the console is trying to install part of a system update,
    but can't download it.

To try an isolate the problem I would recommend clearing the persistent storage on the console as well as clearing the system cache.

    * To clear the persistent storage, go to Settings, select Disc & Blu-ray, select persistent storage and click the option for 'Clear persistent storage'.

    * To clear the system cache, press and hold the power-button on the console for 6-10 seconds, or until the console turns off. - Do this immediately after clearing the persistent storage.

After you do both of these, disconnect the power-supply unit from the console and the socket. Wait for the light on the power-supply to go from orange to off, leave it for 11 seconds, then re-connect the power-supply into the socket, and then into the console,
    then power on the console.

If the above steps don't work, I would recommend doing a full factory reset on the console. To do this go to Settings, select System and click the option for Restore factory defaults. The screen will go black after a few seconds, and will display a green
loading bar, and when completed will bring you through the original set-up. Go through this and your issue will hopefully resolve your issue.

Update: The full factory reset works. I know it's a pain but it seems to be the only solution.

  7. Update: I just swapped out the Xbox One for a replacement. I spent 2 hours on chat with support last night where I tried all of the above. The factory reset did not help. The hard reset did not help.

Hopefully the new system resolves this issue.

  8. Xbox One problem, Xbox Live problem or home network problem?

Sorry to hear the steps didn't work for you AlexRules6969. Hopefully the new console will resolve the issue, if not it may just be a networking issue. What ports did you open? And have you tried assigning a manual DNS to the console, or even setting up a
DMZ for the static IP of the console?

  10. It's still not working, even on the new Xbox. Must be a problem with my network configuration? I don't know what else to change.

I have the Xbox One set up with a static IP, and I have that IP DMZ'd. I have a cone NAT, and Test Connection and Test Multiplayer Connection both say everything is fine.

  11. Sorry to hear that AlexRules6969, have you tried to connect to a different network to check if that works, such as a friend or family members Network?

Did you open the ports specifically on your static IP address?

For the best static IP address use the relevant one below.

If your gateway is 192.168.0.1 use the IP: 192.168.0.30

If your gateway is 192.168.1.1 use the IP: 192.168.1.30

If the last digit(s) (after the 3rd dot) is more than 1, change the last number (after the 3rd dot) to 35

After this you will need to re-forward the ports to the new IP address, use the following ports and protocols

    Port 53 (TCP and UDP)

    Port 80 (TCP)

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 500 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (TCP and UDP)

    Port 3544 (UDP)

    Port 4500 (UDP)

If this doesn't work, then consider talking to your ISP about getting a new router possibly, as it looks like that may be the issue.

  12. Also, for a manual DNS, I would recommend the following:

    Primary DNS - 8.8.8.8

    Secondary DNS - 8.8.4.4

Looks like this error is related to a timeout. Are you located in an urban area?
