Xbox One Preview program. The new dashboard update has messed up my Xbox. Black screen.

Okay. So before I even get started I need to make something clear. I am opted in to the Preview program and until now I have been using the new dashboard or rather the "New Xbox Experience". I've contacted two different support agents, one by phone and one
by chat and neither have been able to help me in the slightest due to me being a part of the Preview program. Now, with that out of the way, let me tell you my story. I woke up today and turned on my Xbox One only to find that I'm not connected to Xbox live.
So I troubleshoot the problem. It tells me that I need to reset my router, so I do. I come back and try to connect again and I'm still unable to. So it tells me to reset my Xbox, so I do. Now this is where my nightmare happens. Upon resetting my Xbox, I see
the green load-up screen with the Xbox logo (as usual). But afterwards, when normally you would here the "ding" and your dashboard would pop up, I get nothing. Just a black screen. BUT when I hold in the middle X button on my controller, I am still given the
pop up that gives you the options to "Turn off system", "Turn off controller" or "Report a problem. So what do I do? I click "Report a problem" and all of a sudden it starts glitching out and repeatedly showing this grey rectangle like it's trying to open
the "Report a problem" function but is constantly failing and retrying. So I hold in the big X button again and now I get a panel saying something along the lines of "Please wait, we're trying to open your app". I've hard reset my Xbox around 10 times and
soft reset around 4. I've tried starting my Xbox with my internet disconnected and I power drained my Xbox. None of these steps helped me in the slightest. I contacted a Support agent by phone and by chat and they both told me that this issue is beyond their
help because it surely has something to do with the Preview program. PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to help or at least tries.

New dashboard question

so I have two Xbox ones in my house, mine and my sons
I am in the preview program only and my son is not in any programs
He turned his Xbox on today to see an update which was strange since we both have instant on
He now has the new dashboard and I'm on the original one
How did his Xbox one get update when he isn't in any preview programs? And why is making be not update?

im part of the preview program and the new dashboard has been crashing my xbox constantly, causing me to reset it and now, when i try to turn it on, it shows the logo and xbox one, loads, then black screen, help please?

 

Hi Jordanan,

When it has started up, try pressing and holding RT + LT + Y. This should cause a dashboard refresh.

If that doesn't work try turning it off and unplugging it for 30 seconds. After plugging it back in press and hold the power + eject buttons for 20-30 seconds.

Let me know how this goes.

 

Dixikinz, Thanks so much for responding. Unfortunately the dashboard refresh did not help. I also tried to unplug like you said but that also didn't work. But for some reason after restarting my Xbox with power + eject like you said, my Xbox' start up screen
(Green screen with Xbox logo and 3 loading dots) was in a lower resolution. Looked really bad, like 360i. Again, thanks for your suggestions. but it seems I'm still out of luck.

 

Ah, that sucks! Yeah, the resolution would change because it resets the video settings. I really thought that would work.

Do you have Kinect or an external hard drive plugged in? Have you unplugged all peripherals and tried a hard reset?

 

Thanks a lot for your help. No, I don't have a Kinect or an external hard drive. Unfortunately, I've tried hard resetting over 10 times now with no luck. I really hope I can get this fixed soon.

 

And I can't even access the forum reserved for Preview program users because it's private and whenever I try to access it I get "group not found".
