Xbox one preview media player usb !

had a msg of xbox today sayin i could try this usb app so i redeem the app and when i launch the app it says xbox one preview update required i phoned xbox thay said to come to the forums any help people ?

You should post in the preview forums also check your OS the latest is 1409-140817-2200.

 

If you are not enrolled in the preview program you may have got this invitation accidentally.

The new media player app can only be used with the actual preview dashboard. No other options.

Unfortunately you have to wait until September when the app will be released officially. So please just ignore that message.

 

I can't use the app got the same message and i'm part of the preview program.

 

I wasn't aware the sent invitations for the media player app, to my knowledge if your part of the preview program you just insert a USB drive with media on it and you get the app automatically.

with a mod to get you sorted.

I am part of the preview update and registered my console last week. I still cannot gain access to the preview forums and haven't been prompted to update my console yet

 

xb_rel_1409.140819-2200 That is the current build number check on your console to verify if that is what you are showing.

Press the Xbox button to return to Home.

Press the Menu button and select Settings (or select Settings on the Home screen).

Select System.

Select Console info.

Your operating system version is the third row down.

I will go ahead and post in the preview forums to tell them you are having issues gaining access.

Also it might be a good idea in the future to start your own thread that way you don't get overlooked.

 

I just posted in the preview forums so hopefully they get you sorted soon. Also here is a bit of info on how to get updates in case you weren't aware

If your console is in Instant-On mode, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.

NOTE: Once the update is available, you can manually begin the update by navigating to Settings > System and selecting System Update.

If your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 1:00AM PDT 8/23/2014, you will be prompted to do so the next time you start your console.

 

The mod in the preview forum said he sees where you were processed and enrolled on the 18th he also suggested checking your OS. If your not on 1409 he told me to have you reach out to them. I assume you now have forum access. So try posting in this thread
