Xbox one powers on but no display, controllers not connecting and kinect not powering on

As above, came back from work to see this happening.

The xbox turns on fine, the fans inside spin up as per normal and the white xbox logo glows. However, the green splash screen never comes, and the xbox just waits indefinitely without displaying amything. Also, the kinect unit does not turn on, and the controllers
fail to connect to the xbox.

Am I sitting on a $300 paperweight?

From what I understand, the Kinect syncs the controllers. It says nothing about the controllers connecting via the Kinect.

I still see no reason why the Kinect shouldn't be an option.

The fact that the Kinect can not be unplugged from the Xbox One is the only thing keeping me from buying one.

 

All Xbox One controllers have stopped connecting to the console

A few days ago all my Xbox one controllers stopped connecting with my Xbox one console. I cannot get any controllers to sync. I've tried new batteries, doing a hard restart, turn off, left off for days. I've tried connecting without kinect connected, nothing
seems to work.

When powering on the controllers the xbox button just flashes.

The controllers all work via usb cable and are all up to date.

The newer controller I have is able to connect to the Windows 10 PC and works fine; I can stream to laptop and play game with wireless controller via the PC.

Nothing has changed in the room with the Xbox, no new devices, interference sources.

Do you have any suggestions to fix this and what might be causing this? Can I run any further diagnostics to understand the issue?

Xbox one with Kinect with external HDD for game storage

 

Try doing a hard reset like this to see if it helps. Sometime the internal components just need to reset. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console
for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test the results. Let us know. Good Luck!!

 

Did all that from canvassing other threads. Nothing seems to work.

Hi, have you tried another HDMI cable and that the cable is nice and secure at both the Xbox and Tv ends, maybe try a different HDMI port on the Tv.

 

Yup, tried that too. I was originially connected via an onkyo amplifier. I directly connected to the tv, and tried another different tv.

Both nothing.

 

Ok, did you try resetting the display settings at all ?

1.If there's a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.

2.On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for five seconds to turn off the console.

3.Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You will hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. DO NOT LET GO until the second
beep occurs.

Note This will boot your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset this setting, go to Settings in the guide, select Display & sounds, Video options, and then TV Resolution.

Have the exact same problem. Tech support had me run the offline diagnostic tool, and try factory reset. Neither worked. They told me in out of warranty and I need to pay to get mine repaired. I've had this thing since day one, less than 3 yeasts. Why should
I have to pay over $100 to fix this *** thing. It's the red rings of death all over again!

 

I removed the power for about 5 hours, and turned in back on. After about 10 mins, the green splash screen came on, but after that it didn't progress anywhere. It's not frozen, as the 3 dots keep cycling around, but it just dosend go to my dashboard as it
should.

The kinect is still not getting any power.

I've done steps 1 and 2. As for steps 3, I can't get the power light to flash or the second beep to come.

Yes, this is exactly like the red rings. I only bought the xbox one because I thought these horrific issues were fixed. And that microsoft chat is impossible to activate, with its greyed out name fields and all. This has been horrific, start to finish.
