Xbox one powering on to a black screen after logo screen.

My xbox keeps turning on like normal xbox logo pops up it loads but then instead of it going too my dashboard it goes too a black screen and nothing happens. I've hard reset my xbox unplugged everything done the whole start up with the pressing sync eject
and power button all at same time still too the same result a black screen. This cannot be due too the new update as I've not had a internet connection since the beginning of the week due too DNS been Down :/. This problem has only happened today and would
appreciate help with this ASAP please.

Hello, yes the Xbox one does carry a one year warranty.

Is your Xbox not powering on at all or does it power up and after the Xbox logo screen you get nothing but a black screen or is it something else?

 

Grey Translucent Bar, Wont Go away unless reboot!

I don't have my console in power saving mode but I've been getting this same grey bar on the bottom of my screen as well as a long time (2-4 minutes or so) on a black screen immediately after the Xbox one logo when powering it on.

 

During normal start up it will go to the green xbox screen with loading dots on the bottom then it will display a black screen. If the black screen is what your talking about give it a minute for the xbox logo to pop up. The console is loading the dashboard
when you see that screen.

 

do you think im a idiot.... i know its ment too load the dash board but when im waiting over 3 *** hours and still no dashboad somthing is wrong.. no matter what ive tried or how many times no dashboard..

 

I don't think your an idiot. I know people are impatient sometimes that's all. I meant no disrespect. I'm just trying to help you. here's what I want you to try. When your Xbox starts up and you see the logo hold the power button on the front of the console
for 8 sec until it shuts off then unplug it from the outlet for 30 sec then plug back in and power back on. Hopefully it will start like normal. Hope this works for you.

 

This is happening to me right now and the suggested solutions are not working.

 

i just bought a new xb1 first initial turn on blk screen no video or sound just blk ....

 

My friend recently had this start happening, he turned it on for the first time in a while to install Advanced Warfare and was met with a clicking noise for s few min, he turned it off and waited a few min, when he turned it back on it will show the Xbox
boot logo and go straight to a black screen. He;s tried all every power down option and gets a black screen no matter what.

 

There are two troubleshooting guide I'd suggest you should check out.

The dust one is only regarding being stuck in a black or boot logo screen on start.:

If this guide does not help at all, you may please check the second guide on the OSUDT, which brings back the console to a clean install state:

support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-solution

If even the second guide fails you need to call the support to have your console serviced.

 

Thanks for the reply, none of it helped, I am pretty confident the Hard Drive in it died. I work with PC's pretty regularly and it sounds exactly like a dead drive, it boots the system bios then looks for a OS but doesnt find one so a blank screen is displayed.

Thanks for the help, ill have him call the xbox support people and see if it can be fixed.

 

That was my first thought of the clicking noise, too. Harddrive click of death. That's bad.

 

I had the same problem it's not the hardrive I spent hours trying to fix it and I can walk you through it the only thing is it resets it to factory default
