    I hope someone can help and my xbox hasnt had it. I have a Xbox One 500gb. I haven’t used it for a while and today I went to use it and it will onky power on but nothing else.

    I’ve had a look online and I’m not really finding anything which has the same symptoms as mine. I would say I’m quite techie but I’m quite stumped.

    The xbox will power on using the controller or the power on button, but my controller will no longer connect to the xbox. The TV screen is blank, I’ve tried changing HDMIs and tested different devices incase it was that but they all display fine.

    I’ve tried hard resetting the xbox, so holding power for 5 seconds, unplugging and plugging back in and that didnt make any difference.

    I read somewhere I can get to an offline update screen by powering off, holding BIND and Eject then powering on and holding those two buttons for 10-15 seconds. I should hear two beeps and it doesn’t make any.

    I know this shouldn’t make a difference but I’ve changed our wifi and the xbox hasnt been connected to the new one, so I wasnt sure if it’s tried to boot and connect to the old network and because it couldn’t it’s had a meltdown. I have hard wired it in
    now and no difference.

    I saw I can do a manual update using a flash drive but I have no idea what build number my xbox is on as I can’t get it to display anything.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do/try to fix it?

    Did a factory reset and it now shows I have 0 gamerscore

    My Xbox One console was having problems. Upon powering my device, i would encounter an unresponsive black screen or an inresponsive green xbox one logo screen. In this case i followed a troubleshooting step to factory reset my console leaving the games.
    When i went to recovery mu account/profile it showed i had 0 gamerscore.

    is it stuck this way?

    i am also unable to pick a gamerpicture.

    Hello, yes the Xbox one does carry a one year warranty.

    Is your Xbox not powering on at all or does it power up and after the Xbox logo screen you get nothing but a black screen or is it something else?

    This could be a hardware problem or a software problem, and I'm leaning towards a software problem.

    Please go to this page
    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution     and select the option "I Need to Troubleshoot A System Update Error" Then your console version, then "I Am Experienceing A Startup Issue". Then "Black Screen". Follow the instructions.

    Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I agree it looks like a software issue.

    I’m just waiting to see if it’ll get to the start up screen, after 20 minutes it moved from a black screen to white, then the green xbox startup screen. About 5 minutes after it’s back to black. Fingers crossed it’ll get there eventually!

    ChiefJoboo has offered great information. When your system goes to a black screen or the green loading animation and doesn't progress. I means your software is corrupted or out of date. More than likely out of date if your on the Energy saving mode. This
    FULLY powers off your system and doesn't download updates automatically while the console is off. A

    soft factory reset     after holding down the buttons should fix the issue. Just make sure you select keep my games and apps so you don't have to reinstall everything.

    No, as I said in the post, the screen continues to be black even after pressing the “eject” and “power” button simultaneously and waiting until the second beep. There’s no such option as “reset” for my machine. It’s just a blank unresponsive screen.

    I believe I listed the three main solutions that the troubleshoot had. All resulted in a black screen.

    As for the Xbox button, that’s the only thing I can do on my controller. The turn off and restart option is all I see.

    Hello all,

    So the new dashboard started messing with my Xbox a few days ago. It started with the controller becoming unresponsive while I try to load anything. The screen will go black and will stay that way for a few minutes before it says try again(if that message
    even loads). On top of those issues, now it seems my Xbox no longer accepts my internet. Saying that my internet security isn't compatible with Xbox. Also Xbox won't load home screen after power on. If it does, nothing works. Keep getting the "It's taking
    too long" message. Pressing the close button just leaves me with a black screen untill the message reappears. I'm posting this here because when I try to report the problem, it's the same story. Black screen, unresponsive controller, takes to long message,
    close or report, repeat. Anybody else having these issues?
