  1. Xbox one power up issues with instant on?

My xbox one has been running in instant on mode since I first got it and ran great.... Until the June 29 '14 update. After the update I started having an issue with the xbox not wanting to power up using the controller. It would, however, power on
with the button on the front or with the kinect. Also, the controller didn't want to power down when you turned the xbox off. I tried power cycling and checking my batteries multiple times to no avail. The only time it would work was the first time or two
after power cycling (unplugging the console). I finally went on the online support page yesterday and was told that I had an issue with my controller and that an exchange would take 2-3 weeks with me having to send my controller back first. Not wanting to
be wuthout my xbox for up to 3 weeks I headed down to game stop and bought another controller only to discover that the new controller had the same issue. I called Microsoft this time and after being sent to about 5 people and then getting disconnected I
finally got a competent tech. A good bit of troubleshooting revealed that, when my xbox was in instant on mode it was not responding to the controller's command to turn on because it thought it was already on and not in standby. It was determined that running
my xbox in power saving mode until the next update released was the best approach and then if the next update doesn't fix it then send the xbox in for repairs. If anyone else has the same issue please post here and report it to Microsoft so that hopefully
they will fix it as apparently I am the only one who has reported this issue so far.

    :)

  2. Connecting to LIVE and staying that way...

Change your Xbox form Instant on mode to Energy Saving. Instant on causes alot of issues and one of them being wireless connectivity.

I see that you question was not answered. I'm having sort of the same issue. But my XBOX One will not resume at all when in "instant mode" I have to actually unplug/plug the power cord to get the XBOX to start up. Also it's intermittent when this happens.
I decided to change the power from "instant on" to normal power setting (where the XBOX turns) and I have no issues starting it up.

Xbox one power up issues with instant on?

I am having a similar issue, although I do not have kinect.

My console and controllers (same problem with both controllers) were working fine even after the update as far as powering on and off everything meaning controllers and console....but since I updated my controllers with the controller firmware update the
console needs to be turned on manually or with my harmony remote...the controller then needs to be turned on and everything works--when powering down- the console will power down but the controller will not turn off when the console is powered down and off.
I have to manually turn off the controller when the console is off by holding the controller button for about 5 seconds....it all works- but it would be nice if when the console powered down the controller turned off as well. I am going to use that techs
suggestion you mentioned and put the xb1 in power saving mode (if I can figure out how to do this) and see if that works-

I am brand new to XB1 (a couple of months) and I have to say it really is a great console- just hope I can get the controller /console sync powering issue fixed!

I had exactly the same issue until 5mns ago and, indeed, it has happened since the last controller update I needed to run to set up my wireless headphones + xbox headset adapter. Online customer support recommended I stayed in Power Saving mode until there
is a console update that fixes it. Hopefully, the next one.

Add another one to the list of unresponsive systems in Instant On Mode. Glad to hear that I am not the only one. I sure hope it gets fixed in the next update which I assume must be close to release.
