  1. Xbox One power supply not working! *Light going on and off*

Working just fine yesterday. Went to turn it on today and it wouldn't turn on, so I checked the brick part and seen that the light was off. (light is usually orange). So I unplugged it and plugged it in, still didn't work. Tried the step-by-step instructions
on here about unplugging everything and waiting 5 to 10 minutes but that still doesn't work. Light only comes on for a second then goes off. But the odd part is, when I plug the cord into the wall first the light comes on and it's orange which means it supposed
to be working but as soon as I plug it into the xbox it immediately goes out. Is this a problem with my power supply or the xbox itself?

    :)

Light on Xbox one will come on and will automatically turn off

Please turn off and unplug the console and the power supply (if you have one) for 10 seconds to reset the internal surge protection.

Also, make sure you are not using any surge protectors, as that could make the console not get enough voltage to run.

If that does not work please see these pages before you consider a repair:

Xbox one Won't Turn back on

"The light on your power supply unit can give you a clue as to whether it’s working properly:

    -

Solid white or solid orange light: Your power supply is working. If your console won’t turn on, see Troubleshooting a blank TV or monitor with your Xbox One.

    -

Power supply displays no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions first:

    -

Plug your console’s power supply into a different electrical outlet. Do not use a surge protector.

If the unit is still not lit up, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then plug it back into the outlet.

If your power supply light is still unlit, the unit needs to be replaced. You can order a replacement Xbox One power supply unit from our Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace the unit under warranty (the power supply warranty
is the same as your console warranty)."

Xbox One power supply not working! *Light going on and off*

    Hey there,

Have you run through the steps on our
    Xbox One Power Troubleshooter
? That has a pretty lengthy list of stuff to try, and we recommend following each step if you haven't already. If you have a nearby friend or family member that can let you try their power supply, that will help narrow down
which side the issue is on.

    Keep us posted!

Xbox One (original) no power, power brick light shuts off

I recently purchased an original model Xbox One and a power supply separate, second hand. Both sellers claimed their items were functional, and I'm tying to narrow down what needs to be replaced/returned/repaired.
If you say "both sellers", do you mean you got the console from one seller and the power supply from the other?

If so, how can one seller claim the console worked without power supply, and the other seller the power supply worked without console?

I have my original Day One Xbox One still in working order. So I can't say that there are specific "weak points" that I could recommend to check.

But since you say you're going to a game shop anyways, I'd recommend you take both console and power supply with you, and have them check their known working power supply with your console, and your power supply with their known working console.

Then when you found out if your console or power supply isn't working, you can then return the defective item to the seller.

Or have them give you the console/power supply pair that they claim "worked".

Power Brick Fan Sounds Like It's Going To Explode

I also have a loud power supply, although I wouldn't say mine sounds "like it's about to explode". Instead I'd say mine sounds like a laptop fan going at max, which is much louder than the console itself while playing Forza 5. According to the "About the
Xbox One Power Supply" page (support.xbox.com/.../about-power-supply) the fan speed changes as the power supply gets hot. Mine does not, the noise stays constant
even after the console has been off (instant-on off) for upwards of five minutes. This suggests that either my power supply gets hotter when the Xbox is in standby than it is supposed to, or my power supply is not correctly adjusting to temperature. I'm leaning
towards the latter, since the power supply feels only slightly warm.

The "About" page from above does suggest plugging the Xbox into an outlet directly instead of plugging it in to a power strip. I've done this (in fact I'm typing this in my bathroom right now because that's the least taxes circuit in my house) and it's working
just as hard as it was in the living room, even after 5 minutes of standby.

Anyone have any suggestions, or know how I can go about getting a replacement?
