    Xbox One Power Supply Brick Fan Won't Stop


    Hi, my Xbox One Power Supply brick's fan will not stop. It keeps going even though I've powered off my xbox. The only time it stops is when I do the total power off by holding my finger on the power button until it shuts down. Do I need a new power supply
    brick, or is there a fix for it?

    question about the power brick for xbox one

    i was told to unplug my xbox one when i am done gaming because the power brick stays on and the little fan in there keeps spinning. what in was told is that the fan in the power brick can burn out and stop working, leading to an over heated power brick and
    a fire hazard. is this true? should i unplug the xbox one when i am done playing for awhile? or will the power brick burn out if i leave it pluged in?

    Well, I found this:

    If you have your Xbox in 'Instant-on Power Mode' it is supposed to have a white light. Not sure about the fan noise, which seems to come from the brick itself.

    With the console in instant on mode the fan in the power supply remains running to allow the console to carry out downloads and updates in addition to the fast wake up time.

    Unless the fan is excessively noisy then there is nothing to worry about. Please see the link below for additional information about the power modes on Xbox One.

    Sounds like your power supply died. You can order another one on
    myservice.xbox.com    .



    The grinding noise is the fan inside the power brick.

    If the console is a Xbox One with a power brick, please check out the following link:

    If the console is an Xbox One S or X, please check out the following link instead:

    Your Xbox One X, Xbox One S, or original Xbox One console won't turn on

    Perhaps it would be better to try another power cable or power brick as well. Try checking if it is possible to borrow one from a family member or friend first. If it works with the new power supply unit, then that means the power brick needs to be replaced.
