Xbox One power supply blinks white then orange 3 times, but console won't power on.

I'm having issues with my Xbox One. When I connect my Xbox to the power supply then plug it into the wall outlet, the PSU will blink white, then orange, then white, then orange, then white, then stay orange. Once it's done blinking the Xbox will not respond
to any of the buttons; however, while the PSU is blinking I can get tones while repeatedly pressing the power but it won't stay powered. I've taken the xbox and power supply my neighbors house and same issue. Connect his power supply to my xbox and same blinking
pattern. Use my power supply on his xbox and it works fine. I sent my xbox in for repair and it came back with a note saying there was no problem found, but connect it back to my PSU and same blink pattern, take it to neighbor same blink pattern. I have used
3 different friends to test and same issue. What else can I do to fix this issue?

Power supply issue or console issue

PLEASE REPLY ANYTHING WILL HELP

i replaced my power supply on xbox one because my last one was flashing and xbox would not power on and now when i plug in the new power supply to my console it turns white for 3 seconds then turns orange for 3 seconds and repeats this about 3 times and
finally just stays orange and while its switching between white and orange it only makes the power on sound when i touch the start up button but no light on console and wont turn on and when the power supply is finally just orange it will turn on for 3-5 seconds
and automatically shut down ive tried everything will someone please help

Hi J! The steps for troubleshooting your power supply can be found at the following link:

but to make a long story short, a flashing orange power light usually indicates a power supply problem - however, since you tried your power supply on your friend's system and it worked, but his gave the same error on your system, this sounds very strange
to me. The only other thing listed in that support article is to try using a DIFFERENT wall outlet, since sometimes wall outlets do malfunction.

I'm assuming since you tried your supply on your friend's console, that your PSU was unplugged from the wall AND your system for longer than 10 seconds? This process resets the surge protector inside the Xbox PSU.

Beyond that, unfortunately I think the only step will be to contact support and explain this to them - they may be familiar with the "white-orange-white-orange" blink pattern, which may well indicate a problem with your console, not just the PSU.

I purchased a new power supply and still had same issue. I was finally able to get the xbox one power on by unplugging the power supply from the xbox and then reconnect the power cord and while the power supply light is blinking I had to keep moving my finger
over the power button like I was strumming a guitar. I had to power cycle the xbox about 4 times while doing this but on the last one the power button turned white and I haven't powered it off since.

I called phone support and they have opened a repair request for me.

Surprisingly, the support guy said that what needs to be repaired is the console, not the power supply.

I thought that 3 red lights + orange power supply led = bad power supply. That's what the online troubleshooting wizard says. Apparently, it's wroooooong. It's a power supply fault if the led is BLINKING in orange. If it's orange, but it's not blinking, then is a hardware problem in the console. Damned if I understand anything!

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Is this a first-party power supply that you got or a third-party one? How does the Power supply act when you turn on the console? Is the LED light white, orange or blinking orange? Let us know these details

I had same problem Microsoft was gone send me another console but today I tried messing with it and got it to come on. The trick is once its solid orange disconnect it from console and plug it back up once it turns white either keep tapping power button
or tapping and holding power button and eject button at same time until power supply light stays white without blinking. Its gone take several tries just remember try timing the presses as the light turns white on power supply.

On the console, is it blinking or solid red light? A blinking red light on the power button means that your console doesn’t have enough ventilation. The red light will continue to blink until the console cools down. If solid red around the power button,
it is possible that you will need to replace the console.

On Power supply, flashing orange, solid red, or no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions:

Plug your console’s power supply into a different electrical outlet. Do not use a surge protector.
If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then, plug the power supply back into the outlet.

If your power supply light is still flashing orange, solid red, or unlit, your power supply needs to be replaced. You can
