  1. Xbox One > Power & Startup > TV & A/V power options >Device power options...

Had this randomly go out after months of it automatically shutting off my tv. Last week I updated my console and it restored the ability to power on/off the tv with the xbox. This morning, my xbox stopped powering off my tv again. Come home from work, and
the only option appearing for all of them is "nothing". I'm part of the dashboard preview program, so don't know if that's got anything to do with the issues. It started right around when they pushed out the last preview patch.

    :)

That sounds curious, especially since it coincides with the latest preview build. Have you posted this in the preview forums? That would be the best place to connect with other preview members and the devs, who will need to know about glitches like this!

One thought, sometimes there are random artifacts like this when an update pushes out, until you fully reboot the box. Have you done a hard reset of your system (by holding the power sensor for 8 seconds until the power brick flashes an orange light, then
wait for the power brick to turn solid orange. Then power back up and see what happens?)

  5. So I performed a hard reset on the system a 2nd time... and this time unplugged the power cord for 30 seconds. My settings came back... temporarily. Last night my xbox detected my inactivity and shut itself and my tv off... like it's supposed to. I wake
up this morning and turn my xbox one on again... and my tv didn't turn on. I check the settings again... and the settings got wiped again. Just for *** and giggles I held the power button for 10 seconds and powered off my xbox before I left for work. I came
back home and powered it on, but it didn't restore my settings. I shut down and unplugged the power cord again. My settings came back. Apparently clearing the cache is the only thing that works to restore the setting.

  6. As for posting in the preview forum, I can't be arsed to request for access to a forum when they should have just gave access to someone using the same email address for here and my gamertag. Access should have been automatic when they invited me to the
    preview program.

  7. You shouldn't have to request access, you should be able to just go and post on the preview forums as long as you are logged in using the account that you registered with.

Have a look on the console to see which preview build you are using (1504, 1505 etc) and then go here and try your luck:

Ditto what Shadow just said - when you get into the preview, your access to the preview forums gets activated within about 72 hours (usually.) Occasionally some people get missed, so if you click Shadow's link and get a "GROUP NOT FOUND..." error, then that
means they just missed your name when granting rights. We can post your Gamertag to those forums and they'll grant access, usually very quickly!

    Let us know!

Turning off Xbox one, turns Comcast box off and on again immediately

Go to Settings, Power & Startup. Click on the TV & A/V power options. I'm guessing the Comcast is set to Toggle. There are two options per device, one for power on,and one for power off. I would set power on to on, and the power off, to off. See if that
    stops your problem.

If you go to Settings - Power & startup - TV & A/V power options, do you see multiple options for powering on a and off your tv? "Nothing" is the only option in all of my settings.

    Vizio TV keeps turning off

Have you set the Xbox One to control the power toggle of your TV? If so, it will send a signal to your TV to toggle the power state of the TV. Basically, if your TV is On before turning on your Xbox One then the signal sent to the TV will turn it off. If
it is Off before turning on your Xbox One, then it will turn On the TV.

Check the settings to see if this is the case. It should be under Settings -> Power & startup -> Power mode & startup -> TV & A/V power options

    Hey Xbox Fan,

Thank you for reaching out. You can manage your console/tv power settings by going to Settings>Power & Startup>Power mode & startup>TV & A/V power options. This page allows you to setup your console to turn on/off along with whatever device you may have
it connected with. Hope this helps! :D
