Xbox one power shut down

Does you son have there own account? or do you have them set up as a child account that's; for example, attached to your account?

If they have there own account, then they can always sign in online, changed there password, and I would suggest enabling

two-factor authentication.

If they are set up with a child's account, then you could make the changes needed to their account.

If I'm understanding correctly, it kind of sounds like you are worried someone got ahold of their account and is now preventing them from turning on those consoles, which I assure you is not possible.

Now for the systems not powering on. You mentioned already going through the various troubleshooting steps (unplugging everything and plugging them back in, different wall outlet, tested outlet). At that point, it sounds to me like the Xbox One S needs to
be serviced.

I also see the One X is have the same issue. It unfortunately might be a faulty unit. Try exchanging it at the store.

Xbox One X by holding down the power button on the console for ten seconds? Which

power mode is the Xbox One X set to?

I am shutting it off at the console holding down power then turn off. When I hold the power button to shut it off it doesn't seem to send any power of signals to the projector. I have tried both power modes and neither made any difference.

Do you mean the power brick?

The are two power modes. You should have been told to select one when setting up the xbox for the first time. One is an always on type mode that makes startups quick and the other is a power saving mode that completely shuts down the xbox.

Make sure you are in the power saving mode to completely shut it down.
