    Xbox one Power problems

Hello, i seem to have a problem with the plug insert which the power block connects to or its either the power block im not sure at all but it started out when i was done playing Ark Survival Evolved and decided to clear some dust off of the vents on the
exterior of the console. After i was done i tried connecting the power block back on and noticed that everytime i fully inserted the plug into the back of the console it would make this weird humming/buzzing noise coming from inside the console (not the power
block) and managed to figure out it was coming from the fan area. I got my xbox one given to me from a friend and it had no warranty,
[Mod Removed - Please do not discuss self-repair options on our forums. See Forum Guidelines.] the buzzing noise is coming from cooling unit (not sure if thats what it is) underneath the fan. It was completely bare so im sure it was coming
from their since i plugged it in to make sure but im not sure whats wrong with it, it just makes that buzzing noise and it doesn't even turn on or anything at all. Tried holding down the power buttom, pressing the eject button couple times, reset the power
block, tried turning it on using the controller. All it does is continually buzzes till i unplug it. I really need some help. Thanks

    :)

It's possible the console overheated and the circuit board made a pop and it is possible that it was running for a extent period of time making it over heat from there we can't really assist you because it's the console not the PSU so i'd take it to a retailer
and see if the warranty covers it.

    Xbox One power problems

So at first i thought my actual power supply was the problem so i got a brand new one, but its still doing the same thing. I will plug in the Xbox and the power supply will go white and make noise, then orange and go quiet and repeat this about 3 or 4 times
then just plain orange. If i press the power button on the actual Xbox while the light is white it will make the standard "on" noise but no actual light will come to the logo, i have tried all fixes and obviously i replaced my power supply so i was just wondering
if this is a problem people know about and how to fix it. Thanks.

Sorry scratch that, the buzzing noise is coming from the insert in which the power block goes into.

  5. If you're using an extension cord and it's buzzing/beeping that usually indicates that it's being overloaded. It's best to connect your console directly into a wall
    socket

I connected one end of tbe brick to the wall socket and other to the Xbox, and its still buzzing from the end thats connected to the xbox. The power brick has a solid orange light without any change when i try to power on the xbox.

Actually there is an even easier way to test your PSU (Power Supply Unit). Give this a shot:

Try unplugging your PSU from both the outlet it's plugged into and the Xbox. Then take it and plug it into a wall outlet directly, no power strips or surge protectors, and confirm the Orange/Amber colored light comes on. Once you have that, then plug it
into the system and watch that light on the PSU. One of four things is going to happen:

    1) The light will change to White for 5-10 seconds and then go back to Orange/Amber. This is the ideal outcome. The white light for that interval means it's charged the capacitors in the system and it should come on by pressing the power sensor on the
    front of the console.

    2) The light will flash between White and Orange/Amber several times. This indicates a short in the PSU and it needs to be replaced.

    3) The light will do nothing and just stay Orange/Amber. This indicates that the PSU is unable to pass power to the system or even recognize it at all. This usually means that the console isn't accepting power and the console needs to be replaced.

    4) The light will go out completely when you plug it in. This means a complete hardware failure in the PSU. It needs to be replaced.

Use these steps to either fix the issue or at the very least narrow down the issue to the actual culprit.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
