    Xbox One power on issue

I don't know if this can be called an issue. Basically when I turn on the console by pressing the main button, after the initial logo the screen goes black and it won't show the dashboard until I connect a controller and press the xbox button on said controller.
    Is it normal?

Please note that the power on option is set to energy-saving mode, and that if I set it to instant-on the problem does not occur.

    Thanks to anyone who replies.

    :)

  2. Xbox One Instant On Power Issue

Sometimes when I turn my xbox on, the light will flash, and then it immediately turns the console off. I turn it on again and it turns on slowly, identical to it turning on in Energy Saving Mode. It used to happen once out of every five times or so I turned
it on, but now it is happening quite a bit more often now. I can still play and do everything on the console just fine, it is just frustrating having this problem. As far as I'm aware, this does not occur in Energy Saving Mode. The power box also appears fine,
and has a constant white light.

Any advice would be great, thanks for your time!

I also have this problem. For me, seems to have started with the most recent update. Maybe some problem with the new "toggle device power" settings that I changed (new settings for TV and Cable Box)?

I have this same problem and have tried power cycling it several times to no avail. This problem has been occurring for 3 days now and I have failed to find a method of fixing it. Please let me know how to fix this.

Hi Gavindagreat, unfortunately I couldn't manage to solve the issue for now. I asked around the web and seems like this problem may be caused by the february conosle update. I'm waiting for the next one to see if it fixes this, otherwise I'll contact Microsoft
    support service again.

I'll let you know if there are any changes.

Hi all. I'll open again this thread only to say that seems like the problem has been solved, supposedly with the march update (the frequency of black screens after the green logo gradually decreased until the issue didn't occur anymore, close to the console
update). Thanks to everyone who replied.

    Xbox One power issue

The Xbox One drive is like the Xbox 360 disc drive cryptographically "married" to the mainboard of the console. So you can't simply swap out a drive and expect it to work. The software on the drive has to match the encryption of the mainboard.

Thank you for taking the time time to reply to this thread, Reese.

At this point, you would need to test this power supply unit on a different console. If you can reproduce the same results, then this would mean that you power supply unit is what is failing, and you would need to replace it.

However if this power supply unit works on another console of the same model, then you console would be the root of the problem.

Keep in mind that the original Xbox One console is no longer manufactured by Microsoft, nor is the console PSU. As a result, out-of-warranty support is no longer available for this particular product.

This would indicate that the only other option that we would be able to recommend to you on the Xbox Forums, would have to be to upgrade to a new Xbox One of the S or X models.

I'm sorry about any confusion or turmoil this might have caused.

    Xbox One Power Issue

I have the original Xbox One, and it loses power when I plug the chord into the xbox, as soon as I do that I hear a tick and the orange light from the power chord turns off.

What is the voltage rating on the PSU, if its 100 - 110v then you have probably blew the PSU, thats why it will be blowing your mains house fuse. A plug adapter is not the only thing you would need for a PSU with those voltage ratings, you would also have
needed a step down transformer to convert 240v UK to 110v US.

Since is a electronic device, and the liquid entered to inside, probably something damaged inside, like CPU or motherboard or disc. You should look for a repair. (The warranty (if you have it) will not cover for this.

You can ask where for a repair at Microsoft
