Xbox One Power light Rapid flashing and clicking when turned on

Hi anyone/everyone,

Has anybody experienced a problem with the Xbox one that when the console is turned on, the power button flashes once or twice a second for a couple of minutes and makes clicking noises? My Xbox has been doing it for a month or so now on and off. It also
force closes games/ crashes and shuts itself off. Just wondered if any of you has had the same or similar problem and if you could advise me on how to solve it!

Like the title says, my Xbox One console will make a "clicking" sound, and the console "on" light will flash on and off for about 10 seconds-ish. I know it will do that when it's background downloading and turned off, but this is when my console is on and
the flashing is more rapid. Also, the power supply light is white and not flashing. It doesn't seem to interfere with game play at all, and I haven't been able to nail down a specific source that "triggers" it. I'm just curious if this is indicative of a hardware
problem or something I should be concerned about in the future. Also, it just started happening within the last month I believe, and I've had the console for years.

If you have your Xbox One plugged into a surge protector/extension socket try unplugging it from that and plugging it directly into a wall outlet to see if that helps at all.

Sorry to hear about the console randomly shutting off like that. Please try this guide and see if it helps out. It sounds like the console may not be getting proper ventilation, or the power supply might be failing and having issues due to it.

The main issue is the clicking and flashing lights, the console only shuts off after a game crash. I play Rainbow six Siege a lot and it's prone to game crashes, but when it does crash it sometimes shuts the Xbox off. I'm just wondering if the flashing light
and console clicking is making the game crash more frequently. My console is on top of my desk with plenty of breathing room. I'll be sure to check the troubleshoot out and see if it fixes the problem, but I fear I'll have to send the Xbox to Microsoft and
spend hundreds to repair it!

 

I have the same issue since I updated my console few days ago.

 

from everything online anyone who has this issue, does Vape. i am having this issue as well and when i found out it was my Vape Juice i am reducing what i Vape in my room and currently having a huge fan on my device. this also explains the moisture built
up on my kinect camera lens on the inside.

if anyone has found a better solution or if Xbox wants to make a device to help keep the Vape out of the console then i am all ears.

That fixed my problem. Under the case and the ribbon was soaked.
