  1. Xbox One Power Issues / Auto Powers Off

Problem: My Xbox One powers off automatically after a time between 30 minutes and 0 minutes. It beeps several times when it powers off and tries to turn back on but is unable to and cycles through power on/power off attempts several times before staying
    off.

History: I got my Day One Xbox One on day one. Everything has worked great, until mid-April when the problem described above started. I called tech support and they walked me through several things none-of-which helped. So I sent the unit off to repairs
on April 26th. On May 21st I received my "repaired" unit. The unit did the same thing, I wasn't able to reinstall a single game or anything before it started powering off and going through the problem "power on/power off" automatic cycle. Of course I was
rather furious about being sent back an "unrepaired" unit.

On the advice of tech support I borrowed a Power Supply Brick from a friend who has a working Xbox. I tested their "working" Xbox One Power Supply Brick against my questionable Power Supply Brick. (FYI - both plugged into my surge protector and also directly
into a wall outlet.) Same result Xbox One did it's beeping and powered off/power on cycle regardless of which brick I used.

I called tech support back and explained the issue and that a working power supply brick didn't help. They shipped me a Advanced Replacement Xbox One, which I got today. Guess what? Same problem!

I wondered if it was my power outlet. I have tested the outlet below the one I use for my Xbox One connection (same issue), I tested an outlet on the other side of the room (same issue), and I have tested an outlet on the other side of the house (same issue).

Where do I go from here? Anybody else having the same issues? Solutions? Microsoft doesn't even seem to be aware of this issue because they obviously haven't even been able to help in trouble shooting the issue. Thoughts?

    :)

My new xbox one s keeps switching off

my new Xbox one S randomly powers down for no reason. The power strip is brand new. I also tried switching off the auto power off setting and no luck. No overheating

XBOX One powers down on its own

    Hi all,

Got a new XBOX One on day one. Worked well for 2 days. Now it won't stay on. Powers up, but interestingly not by voice as of today. When i manually turn it on, it powers up, and then shuts my AV receiver off, then turns it back on again. Get the green
XBOX screen, and eventually get to the homepage where i can move around normally for about 2-5 minutes, then the XBOX one powers off all on its own.

Looked at the power supply - amber when off, and white when on. When it auto-powers off, it goes back to amber. Called MY XBOX, and they say its the power supply, and I've read some of the power supply forums issue posts, but they usually note amber light
when not plugged in, no light on the power supply when plugged in, and that the unit will not power on. I am not having this issue.

I'm wondering if this is a similar issue, or a completely different animal. Anyone else noting these issues?

Xbox One Power Issues / Auto Powers Off

Hey there Clayman, I really feel for you here, I had a similar issue with mine but moving it out of a power strip and into a direct wall outlet cleared up most of the issue. As you've obviously already tried that, several times, we'll go ahead and skip
    that.

Your power outlet sounds like it could be an issue, and it may be another environmental issue as well. Typically in scenarios like this it's either an irregular power flow, which could have several different faults, or the system may be overheating and
then shutting down as well. As you've swapped out the system already and gotten a new one and you're still having the same issue, I'd take a look at where the system is sitting and make sure it's getting plenty of air flow, sitting flat and horizontal, and
also that it's not sitting on carpet, which can generate static electricity and cause a short, which is extremely rare and unlikely but we're covering all of our bases. Outside of that I would suggest a field trip. Pack it all up, take it to a buddies house
or family members house and then plug it in there and see if we have the same issue.

I figure this is at least a good starting place, let me know if any of this helps or doesn't and we'll go from there. Xbox One Power Issues / Auto Powers Off :)

  5. Thanks, this is really, weird, so I took the unit to my office. And plugged it in there, a medical facility with managed systems etc. I got a voltameter and tested the current at my office (steady at 124V). The unit worked at my office being plugged up
for one hour. I took the unit home and tested the Voltage there (steady around 122V (Min 119V Max 124V). I plugged the unit in and began monitoring the voltage after over 30 minutes and no major voltage fluctuations the Xbox One was still working!!! What
was the difference? No, Kinect at the office and I hadn't bothered to plug in the Kinect at home. Well, I plugged in the Kinect...and it kept working...

I am baffled. It has been working for several days now. I don't know if moving the unit around changed something or if getting it to power up without the Kinect first changed something. If something was loose (in the unit or Kinect) and got shaken back
into place. My power outlets tested fine so at this time I am convinced there is something odd in my Kinect but I cannot get the issue to repeat so for now I'll enjoy the device.

FYI, the unit is adequately ventilated underneath and above and the device sits alone on it's own stand directly under wall mounted TV.

It sounds like in moving it you also did a power drain of the system, which has been known to clear up some issues. When you power drain the PSU it also resets the internal breakers on it, which may have been what it needs. I'm definitely glad to hear
the field trip helped and it sounds to me like you're doing everything right.

Have fun gaming! Xbox One Power Issues / Auto Powers Off :)

    Xbox One squeaking noise

    Hey there Mastershake457!

Sorry to hear about the noise issue! Has the console shown any signs of over heating (freezing, auto shutdowns, etc)? Let's start by power cycling your Xbox One console. Follow the steps below to power cycle:

    • Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds, or until the unit is fully powered off.
    • Unplug the power supply from the back of the Xbox One console and let it sit for 5 minutes.
    • Plug the power back in and power on.
Post back and let us know if the issue persists so we can help you get this sorted! :)

XBOX ONE CANT WATCH LIVE TV

I followed the directions in another post and disabled auto shut off after.. under power and setup. I then powered off the system and unplugged for around 10 seconds. this seems to have fixed the issue as it did not happen after powering on the system (system
was off most of the day)
