xbox one power button flashing

I was going to go out for a walk and I had my xbox on standbye for about an hour or so and once the noise in the room died down I could hear the fan on and thought that was kind of strange, so I went to power it on to change the setting so it could shut
completely off but when I hit the power button the light started slowely flashing and wouldn't turn on or turn off. What I ended up doing was just pulling the plug at the back of the xbox but does anyone know what was going on?? cause now it seems to be working
fine.

Tame thing happens to me too! I have to unplug the power then it works fine, how ever if I turn it off and leave it off for a few hours it happens again. It has been doing this for about 2 or three days now. The only thing i have done on it other than surfe

ya today was the first time that this has happened, other than that it has worked perfectly. I'm realy hoping that its not a sign of the thing dying or something but I kinda think it was just some glitch of some sort cause I have had it on for hours now
and has worked good

 

When ever i turn it off for more than a few hours it happens to me every time.

 

ya thats wierd, guess this isn't a common thing cause i made this post hours ago and only you have commented but i did research it a bit and only found a handfull of posts on it, some saying thats what it does when it is updating and some have said there's

Mine has done this ever since I got the preview update. If I hold the power button for 10 seconds and shut it all the way down and restart it then it will work but the next day I go to turn it on and then the same thing happens. The last couple times I
have just let it flash to see how long it would go on and after 2-3 minutes the screen will flash and then it will shut completely down. Then when I push the power button it will startup. This is very annoying. The first update messed up my TV on/off via
the Kinect. This update fixed that problem only to create a whole different one. I can't wait to see what happens with the next update.

 

Ty. Also you start in safe mode by holding the xbox button and eject for like 10 seconds with out a game in it. I dont think it will do any good my tv is calibrated. I just thought you might like to know and could be helpfull at some point.

 

Tell is your xbox one plugged into a surge protector? The xbox one has surge protection built into the power supply and if it's plugged into a surge protector you may have problems. Try plugging it into the wall or a different outlet.

Explain to me how being plugged into a surge protector would cause problems? Also if anybody has an answer to this problem or knows of a thread with the answer please let me know. I am still having this problem.

Not really. It only does this when I turn it on from standby, not when it's completely powered down. If I hold the button for ten seconds and shut it down, or let it flash for a couple minutes until it shuts down then it always works when I power it back
on. I have never had an error message or had the green screen stay on for longer than it should. It seems to be something wrong with the standby mode. I've never had any of the problems listed on that page but thanks for trying.

 

this thread was for when you turn your xbox on and the power button keeps flashing!!!
