Xbox One power brick

I just checked the Microsoft Store website and they don't sell replacement power bricks for the Xbox One or Xbox 360. WTF?! Nintendo sells replacement AC adaptors for their consoles, so why doesn't Microsoft?

So I have not upgraded to an Xbox One yet, but I found one on Ebay for 218 dollars. The reason it is so cheap is because it comes without a controller and the power brick. I can buy a controller no problem, but that leaves the power brick. From what I have seen online, the power brick for the Xbox One has similar jacks to the one on my Xbox 360 slim. I checked online to see if the power brick would work with the One, but I found no information on it. Do any of you happen to know if it works?

You should be able to call phone support to get a replacement power brick for either console. Or register your device to request a new one.

They sell replacements. Start a repair on myservice.xbox.com . From there you can order a replacement.

 

I mean just going to Amazon or Walmart.com and buying it, like I would with a laptop power adapter. Why do we have to order one from Microsoft's tech support?

Since no one here works for MS we can't answer those questions. You can order 360 power bricks from various places like ebay and probably Amazon as well. But going through tech support is the best and most reliable option.

You should be able to just buy one, as they were selling them to people who had imported consoles to non supported regions.

Now what about ordering a second Kinect as backup? Does Microsoft sell it in stores? Or do I again have to go through their customer service?

 

They dont sell back up Kinects for Xbox One.

 

Well that sucks. Looks like I'm not buying another Xbox One then (I exchanged mine for a PS4 at Best Buy). My cat likes to chew cords, and I would hate to spend a ton of money on an extra Kinect and power brick.

 

You could fit a cable tidy kit to your Kinect. Most of them are essentially just plastic wraps for the cables. They come in varying degrees of strength, a high quality one will probably provide more than adequate protection against a cat. This would also
be a much cheaper solution as I recall the Kinect having a value of about £80 - £100 whereas a good quality cable kit will probably cost about £20 but can come as cheap as £5.
